Gorgeous, Beetle! Just gorgeous! I'm doing the same... pollinating everything! I want tons of seeds to trade and share! And some to plant!

I have 3 Red Lions in a community pot, and right now, only one is blooming... but the others are opening buds, so it won't be long!

I don't mind at all, being called a hippi nut by the hub lol. Sooo grateful,thou, to have this forum, and great bunch of fellow Amy lovers to sound off to!! [my non plant lovers eyes glaze after only ten minutes he he!!!]

It is a joy, to be sure! I just hope all 3 of these red babies can be in bloom at the same time so pictures can be taken and look good... I know I'm a hippi nut, and it doesn't bother me one bit to be called one! When I start to tell Larry about some flower or other and what's happening, his eyes kind of sneak off, back to his computer screen or tv, whichever one he's glued to at the time! LOL! And he says, "uh huh, uh huh", like he's listening... but I know he's bored and just wants me to shut up about my darn flowers! LOL!

There are times, though, when a particular one will catch his eye... like the cybisters, or a really large, brightly colored bloom... and he'll actually acknowledge it! Men! What can ya do?! LOL!

Beet, your plant center is so lovely and welcoming. Great photo, makes me want to pull up a chair and have a cuppa joe and shoot the breeze. Your second bloom is beautiful. Just love looking at all the details from the petals to the shape and color. Lovely, NOW where is that cuppa coffee?

Any time cindee, anytime! Thanks for the comments on OS. I don't believe this luck, 2 out of 3 new bulbs, were true to name lol!! Nymph has a ways to go. The DH some times [actually a lot] shakes his head,and says this is supposed to be our dining table!! Silly him..its perfect for the plants he he.

Beetle, doesn't he know that all tables require plants?! That's what tables are for! I've completely allowed my plants to take over my crafting table... they're everywhere!

Beetle, did you notice on your last picture that the bottom petal is not one but actually three? What an interesting weirdo... Are all of this plant's flowers formed the same way?

soultan, I was wondering if anyone would notice!! The first flower, was the only one with the wierd extra petals, the rest are normal. Regardless if it makes this a 'freak' IMHO its a Beautiful one lol!!

beetle, are the petals fused together? The color is quite beautiful to my eye. Soultan, how the heck did you notice the petals??

Now that it's been mentioned, I see the lower petals... that actually looks rather cool! I like it!

beetle-I think the 'weirdness' is quite cool and unusual. My Zombie right now is blooming like crazy and I think it forgot one of the flower buds had not completely matured, even though other larger buds are still closed. It has opened this goofy little 1/2 bloom mutant on one of the scapes. I think it is quite cute.

Make the Capt'n neat on chipped ice or with a splash of club soda, please! CHEERS!!

If gardening weren't fun, I certainly wouldn't be involved in it! I love both indoor and outdoor gardening with a passion! And I think one of the things that makes gardening so much fun is sharing it with others of like mind... sharing and the exchange of information is how I've come so far so fast with my hippis! Without this forum and the wonderful people in it, I would be way far behind... I wouldn't have pollinated anything... I wouldn't have known how to save my ailing bulbs... I would have no hope of expanding my collection so quickly, and so diversely!

Yes, this whole hippi business is a lot of fun... with a little help from my new friends!

I have an Orange Sovereign ordered, and can't wait to see the flower in person! Like Elizabeth, I've wanted one for a long time!

Beetle, sometimes it's the oddities that are most interesting... like the lower petals on your flower... that's very different, and I think it makes the flower look really unique, not a freak at all! And who knows? Maybe if you breed it and get seeds, that oddity will be passed down to one or more progeny... how cool would that be?!

Jodi, that would be way cool! If the crosses take[and it looks promising] I'd be thrilled with a few extra petals! I feel the same about this forum and all the help and advice you wonderful people have given.I have only 13 in the collection, but like you Jodi, I started in 2000, with one bulb [Clown] Originally, the plan was to get one a year...ya know how that goes lol! If I were to have kept every pup and seedling...it would have been way larger a bunch.
I've also enabled three of my four Daughters, with Clivia pups,Hipps,and other assorted house plants. It's wonderful to know they will carry on the gardening hobby, or should I say way of life. Thank you Grandma Rose, for starting me on this grand adventure!

I, too, am trying to get my daughter and daughters-in-law interested in plants and gardening... I gave them each a pre-planted hippi for Christmas... and in fact, my daughter called me last night, frantic, because her young son knocked the pot off a table and she was worried that it would die...

We got past that little crises... the hippi is fine! The saucer cracked and the pot lost a little top-soil... but nothing major happened... she will still enjoy blooms!

She was so relieved when I told her it would be fine! So, just maybe there is a future gardener in the family! I would be so thrilled!

You must also be thrilled that your daughters are taking an interest in the plant world! I thank my Grandma, too, for getting me started!
