Apparently 2009 butterfly season has started for my garden

It's kinda hard to say when the season STOPS, because I've had a few Monarch cats continuously the last couple months, and even had a handful of releases, so yeah there's sometimes for the next few days I'd spot a Monarch and know it's not cold enough at the moment to go far yet. It definitely slowed down to "off-season" levels at some point, though.

But apparently the butterfly season has already STARTED at my place for 2009. Every time I go outside, I see a different species fly by (current count is five different kinds), two of those were actually laying eggs on their host plant, and one was suspiciously close to its host plant.

I really hope we don't get a cold spell that's *too* cold once the eggs hatch. None of the host plants are growing vigorously yet, but there's enough growth each for a couple cats to make it, sure.

Wish me luck... :/
