Comments (27)This is lovely. Keep rambling! I love to hear about other's garden adventures. I also do not know any other gardeners locally, although I do get to talk to my sister on the phone about our respective gardens. Your path is really beautiful and co-ordinates well with the fencing. Plus, all the plants look so healthy. The neighbors maple is a nice addition too. The only thing I can think of is trying for a kid's garden in the center plot. A bean teepee and some towering sunflowers or maybe a 3 sisters corn/bean/squash mound just to model interesting plant interactions. Although it looks as though you may have already filled it up with some goodies since there are plants in the pic....See Morewhat to do....college loan
Comments (11)Might be nice being able to add less to the already mounting debt. There isn't any way to mitigate the tax incurred by cashing in bonds, but it seems like a small price to pay in view of the good it would do. If you'd like to know exactly what the bonds are worth, the Treasury has a savings bond calculator. And if I weren't such a Luddite, I'd be able to post a link to: www.treasurydirect.gov Treasury Direct website will come up, enter the green Individual/Personal site Under Welcome to TD, select "Convert your paper savings bonds" on the right related links, select "Savings Bond Calculator" scroll down choices to "get started" with the drop downs, select your denomination and enter bond issue date ( i.e. 05/1990). The bond serial # is not necessary. A graph will appear giving you interest earned and current value and will do a running total for multiple bonds just by continuing to plug the denomination and issue date information into the calculator....See MoreMajor Patio/Yard before and after makeover - pic heavy
Comments (23)Wow! It looks gorgeous! What a transformation. I wish we could do some beautiful landscaping like you did. It makes such a difference. We built our home 2 years ago and still need to do something with the front yard but we ran out of money. lol...See MoreWhat Major Purchase Do You Feel You Really Screwed Up On?
Comments (54)Also got a kick out of the responses! I don't HATE our Frigidaire fridge, but I do HATE the ice makers. It has two, one in the bottom freezer & one in the door. They never both work at the same time. The bottom one has completely quit, and the top one has a mind of it's own. It will work for awhile, quit, and then when we have a power outage, it will work again for awhile. I've tried to recreate a power outage by flipping the breaker. Doesn't work. Has to actually be power out and back on I guess. Makes absolutely no sense. Best purchase/gift ever is our little under the counter ice maker. The thing has ONE job, and it does it like a champ!!! Three ice makers in our house and that one supplies 95% of the ice....See Moreklavier
