Thanks guys, did ya like the exit sign I put above the door for effect?? I figure if I actually did drink the whole 4.4 cubic feet of beer in my fridge.. I may still be able to find the door,lol!! I am glad I did the room, it is nice to go down there and get away from my teenagers! I just started hosting Texas Holdem parties at my house and it works great for that, and when I feel the need to crank up the Ibanez...I CAN!!. I still have a bit of decorating to do, I would like at least one or two more neon signs..but all in all its coming together.

Seriously, I'm glad for you guys. I liked your other house, but that new one looks like a really perfect place, both inside and out. I will stop by whenever I'm next headed south. In the meantime, hoist a beer for me in that great Doghouse!

Please do Kudzu, my new fridge keeps the beer way cold! I bought the kenmore model so later if I wanted too I could plumb it and convert it to a kegerator, its big enough for a pony keg :) I dont know what it is but this place is so much more homier than our old house, I used to get bad vibes at night in our other house, but the same day we moved in to this one I was trouncing around downstairs, upstairs in the dark and no wierd vibes, leaving the doors unlocked, stuff we never did before (and I dont make a practice of) I dont know if you guys believe that kinda mumbo jumbo.... :p

I was in my other house for over 30 years, and was really emotionally attached to it. My kids gave me hell for selling the place they grew up in...until they saw the new place. Their verdict: "This place is way cooler than the old house." This new house of ours feels totally different -- maybe all the light -- and I know what you mean about houses giving off vibes. I've shed a lot of my old paranoia about security, etc.

Where did you guys live before, in the ghettos?

No I used to live in the central district of Bagoto Columbia, it wasnt nothing to see a body floating down the river, kinda gives you bad vibes ya know?? Kudzu and myself were CIA operatives doing recon on cocaine plantations, wern't those the good ol days Kudzu, nothing like the smell of some Willie peter in the morning.... (ALL IN FUN) (I have to do disclaimers now)
ok.... no on the ghetto, you just get bad vibes from a house, or anything for that matter. I wasnt going to get into this to much but here we go! I believe people have various degrees of intuition or what ever you want to call it, my intuition saved my butt more than once when I used to fight structure fires,(once the hair rose on the back of my neck and my mind was telling me to leave a cold room, I did seconds before it blew up) or even save me from a car accident or two, its not something you call on it just is there sometimes. Once I went to look at a house that my wife and I absolutley fell in love with when we were young, it came up for sale and we went to see it, even though we couldnt afford it at the time, well as soon as I entered the house I started getting a weird feeling that we were not welcome there, it was a beautiful house with a turret that was a location for a grand piano, it was truly elegant... but we were not welcome.. We talked to the sales rep and she said the lady had just past away who lived there, her husband built her the house and he had died maybe twenty years before, well people would go to visit her and she would act like he was still there, I think he was! Then we went down stairs to the basement and there was a locked room down there and it gave me the impression that something was wrong behind the door. I had seen enough of that house, ready to go..
Well later in the week we talked to a friend who happened to go look at that house as well, and she described the same feelings that I had with no cohersion.. take what you what from it..
All I am saying is there be vibes out there...

Koniferkid, wonder if they are already in your house? (oh no, now I'm frightened.) WildBill, I like the humor columns you write. Where were you, working on an assignment In the Congo. I noticed there were a couple months of your absence on the bamboo forums.

I think Bill was reassigned to DogHouse Detail lol. Sounds like everything has fallen into place for you Bill. I can't wait for the day i can have my own "clubhouse" and possibly even start brewing again. One thing i loved out by you is all the micro brews. they appear to be popping up by me but it is so "eastcoast". I hate to say it but its true anyone who has gone out to wash. state or oregon knows what i'm talking about. Can you tell i'm envious??

I was hibernating! it is hard for me to get excited about gardening in the dormant months so I just work on my other hobbies, music, building stuff, making my wife mad... you know.. oh oh yes...drrinking beer.
Your right about those micro brews we have alot of them, I used to have a sweet deal with Pyramid Brewery when it was in Kalama Washington, knew a fella that was a foreman there and when they would have a mislabeled batch come out the employees would get to take it home, and of course they would sell it. So I was getting full cases of any kind of pyramid beer I wanted for $5.00 a case... sweeeet. But they moved out of Kalama, set up in California, for some reason they never could get the labels on straight,lol. It was nothing for me to have 8 cases of beer in my cabinet...."him.. should I go for the snowcap of maybe a lighter blonde??? hmmm... The pale sounds good as well.." it was tough :)
I spent a bit of time finding decorations for the doghouse, the hefe sign sitting by the foster neon is just sitting there I havent figured out where to put it, and I would love at least two more neons.

The "Exit" sign is one of the first things I noticed. heh heh. Helpful hint to guests who overstay their welcome? Or are you expecting stampedes of partiers who need to "use the bushes" after quaffing the Red Hook keggers? :)

Yup Yup!! I just hope they can distinguish between bamboo and knotweed, or we may have problems!!

I tortured this moso boo. Started as seedling and left it and 100 other siblings out in hot sun in one inch by one inch 1020 starter sets on my driveway all last year. Got drenched and dried all summer and only grew to two inches. Only 30 survived. Then brought inside house and baked in boiler room for most of winter till only about ten were alive. Then planted out in middle of winter to dog run. Were all top growth died back. Only one survived. Then my dog peed on it.

This in my effort to make a new master race of moso bamboos.

I deep dug this 10 foot circle and mixed in lots of leaf mulch, grass clipping. It has since been planted with P. Vivax "springhill" in the center. The rest around it is a tropicalesque garden with various aroids, bananas, callas, etc. I had to remove eight wheelbarrows of dirt after I was done digging I fluffed it up so much and added so much organics. Don't blame me for the horsy mailbox. That's my mother-in-laws doing. I love my wife so I had to put it up.

Not your usual verbascums the flowers are 2" across and as of today the plants are ten feet tall.

My patch of 39 A. Sikokianums below are doing good. I just planted 6000 seeds I got from them in a 12 by 8 foot bed a week ago.

I had to sell my lake and Herptile Preserve because it got to be too much for me.

Kudzu, I don't know who to blame for this mix-up, but I'm pretty sure you got my backyard by mistake. They were suppose to deliver that to Texas. LOL

I can see lots of hard work there and I must applaude the talent and creativity in putting it all together.

Yes, just the other day. So I took a picture. Now I am going to leave in under normal conditions in the dog run and see if it grows into a nice size plant.
