Appleblossom Seedlings

Okay here's some pictures of the what's going on with my Appleblossom seeds. To recap, it bloomed in January. I let the seedpods (4) develop and they stayed big and green and firm for months. I finally "helped" one side open and instead of black whatever you call the papery stuff around the seed - they were green. I opened some of them up and inside were these white seeds. Instead of tossing them, I put them in my jiffy plugs. These are pics of what they look like. I left the rest of the 4 pods and they eventually started to split open. What I found in there today (I finally cut the stalk off) were beige papery parts with smaller tan colored seeds that were harder and almost looked dried up.

Should I have harvested them all earlier like the white one? Now I'm wondering about my Papillio seedpod that has looked the same for two months now. Should I be cracking that open?
