How could we go on, without HMFR?

Ingrid, thank you for reminding me. I was there the other day too and saw that........and I said to myself I will get my credit card out, then I was waylayed, and it slipped away. I will do that now, THANKYOU! It is my second Google as Jeri says, actually, probably my first, so I will be lost without it. I have my new blog going and patting up my best rose pics, which I will in turn submit to HMF. If you are interested in having a peep, I have included it here!

Yes I saw the request a few weeks ago and donated then. I also feel HMF is very important, I would hope everyone would help out whatever they could, it all adds up.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is HMFR? I googled it, and found all kinds of stuff, but nothing on roses. What is it?

HMF (Help Me Find/Roses) is an amazing rose database. I use it nearly every day, mostly for research and writing articles. Thank you for reminding me about their request for donations. It is worth every penny.

And they take Pay-pal! that made it, pretty painless to me...

I used Paypal when I donated, too.

HMF also does a tremendous amount of work to support small rose nurseries. They make it easy for us to post our current inventory, puts us in front of new customers and in a great feature allows us to notify people looking for roses we have in stock.

The latter is done by everytime you put a rose on your HMF wish list we can match it to our current inventory. If we have it we can mass email through HMF to everyone looking for it.

So if you see a rose on HMF you want please click the "add to my wish list" (you have to be logged in to your account to see it) so we can let you know when we have it.

Okay, I'm not (usually) this much of a dolt, but I can't see any link to donate. I know it's late and I've had a bad evening, but geez!

I'm not as heavy a user as some of you appear to be (haven't been there since autumn), but I'd still like to donate. What am I missing? Was it a link on an existing page or was it a popup message? If that latter, perhaps my firewall/antivirus software is being a bit overzealous...

Cindy, the only reason you're not seeing it is because it's not there any more. Neither is the message which stated that HMFR needs financial help. I don't know when all this disappeared since I didn't pay attention once I had made my donation. I'm not sure who would have more information about this.

You need to go to a specific rose page to see it. Search for a rose, click on the name of that rose when it comes up and when you get to the page with details etc you'll see it up there.

Paul, I tried that before responding to Cindy and still didn't see the "donate" button or the statement about needing donations. Have you looked at it recently and are you still seeing it?

I'm still seeing it but there is a check box if you don't want to see it again. Perhaps you clicked that or perhaps after you made a donation is goes away?

I emailed the folks at HMF and passed along the thought it might be a good idea to have that button display on every page.

Thanks for letting us all know--and letting us know how to find the donate button. HMF is too valuable to let slip away. I'd be willing to pay a user membership if that would help them.

All last week I saw the message, but it's not there now as of maybe 2-3 days ago. It wasn't there yesterday when I tested it. I didn't click the "don't show" button.

I found the message, 'tis still there. If only I'd tried searching for a particular rose instead of hunting through all the various nav buttons, I'd have seen it.
