Can't find Rosette Delizy anywhere! (in stock, that is!)
Comments (15)aimee, thanks! i have been happy with ARE too!! jeri! wow, she is a big gal! i don't even want to know how big MvH gets! (ok, tell me! i have her planned at 6 feet diameter??) hmmm, even in Texas where we do go dormant for four months or so?? And I know teas don't like to be pruned. One day you won't be able to find my house!! Rosefolly, crowding is a problem for me. I do have my 'anchor' plants safe, sometimes a throw miniatures in to take the space til the big ones grow up. I know I have overbought (and i got le vesuve, too. a monster i hear!). I keep on taking more and more grass in as beds, assuring DH it will be less to mow!! I had better call it quits. Also, need to move on some roses (betty boop, for one, if anyone wants a mature one in the dallas area!!) that I have fallen out of love with!...See MorePapa Gontier and Rosette DeLizy
Comments (2)I don't grow Papa Gontier. Here in Orange County California, Rosette Delizy is a very large rose. After 4 or 5 years, a little gallon plant I put in from RU was about 7 x 6 before I pruned it in January to about 5 x 5. It has already grown back, filled in and I'm looking at the buds of a spring flush that will be epic. I could easily see a Rosette Delizy getting to the 8' range in this climate, if you wanted it to do so. Its habit as a young plant is upright and vase-like....See MoreRosette Delizy has a bud
Comments (3)Oh, go ahead and let one open! But do remember that both the form and the color may be "off" by a considerable amount from what you'll get when she's all grown up. With a rose I've never actually had in my own garden, I can rarely resist it. Jeri...See MoreI'm afraid to ask . . .
Comments (14)I had to dispose of my Striptease a couple years ago too :( Too bad they are well known for having a high percentage of infected plants. I just replaced mine this year with a healthy specimen. Sorry, but asking us to cut up our hostas made me shudder, lol! A lot of us use reputable mail order companies that order from growers with safe practices in place. Some of the top names mentioned are Hallson Gardens, Naylor Creek, and Land of the Giants. The bonus is you can find a lot of cultivars not available locally!...See More- 14 years ago
