The three I selected after considerable research and input from this forum are Elina, Peter Mayle, and the hybrid perpetual called Mrs. John Laing. All three have performed well their first season and have the biggest, beautifullest, and smellyest fat blooms you've ever seen--and no disease problems. I love them and will get three more next spring.

For the record:
Elina -- creamy white blend (absolutely exquisite bloom)
Peter Mayle--hot pink during hot weather, somewhat darker and redder this cool autumn. Dramatic and gorgeous.
Mrs. John Laing--fat mid-pink blooms.

I also grow Valencia (love it!). The three above should re-bloom more quickly and often than Valencia (her only flaw).

Marilyn Monroe. Veteran's Honor looks promising but mine is too new to tell yet. Possibly Gemini - mine has a nice fragrance but I know a lot of other people say theirs doesn't. Double Delight is a classic and did great for me this year. Blue River did wonderfully for me this year but it doesn't have the form that the others do.

Gemini is a real good choice for cutting blooms if you have little room Gemini is a good choice, and Just Joey the blooms are huge,also Black Magic. I have 2 and the blooms never stop it is very reliable when it comes to blooms bm is always in bloom.

dublin..does elina have a fragrance? HMF says mild, it is a florist rose.

Comtesse de Provence, Sunsprite, Double Delight, Rouge Royale, Sheila's Perfume, Yves Piaget, Carding Mill, Intrigue, Elle.

Falling in Love (pink), Veterans Honor (red) Tiffany (pink), Rouge Royale (if you are in a warm area). I've grown and loved Secret and hear great things about Pope John Paul ll, unfortunately both attract thrips so I gave up the former and have to pass on the latter.

Forgot to mention April in Paris: very fast rebloom, good vase life and beautiful fragrance. The only thing less than good is the blotchy color. But I love the fragrance so much I will grow it anyway.

Whoa! Elina has no fragrance that I can tell. Prolific though and a wonderful cut rose with Veteran's Honor. VH does not repeat as quickly for me. I get three to four flushes per growing season on it. However, it is my longest lasting cut rose and gorgeous with Elina.

Double Delight is a tried and true performer. Beautiful rose, wonderful fragrance. A must have.

Sharifa Asma is a beautiful, fragrant rose, but it is not a good cutting rose whatsoever and does not rebloom quickly for me, at least. Such is the case with Austin Roses.

My Tiffany is not a good cut rose. The bloom fade and fall within one day for me. I much prefer Secret and Pope John Paul II. In fact, I want to find another pink that will last in the vase. Suggestions?

CJ: I've been on the look out for a pure rose pink cutting rose for ages. Finally I found Falling in Love. It truly is above average in all respects (and sweetly fragrant to boot). Parents are Moonstone and Marilyn Monroe (hard to beat those two). I've posted this picture before but it truly is representative of the rose. Outside of the thorns, it's all pluses on this one.

I think Mr Lincoln is a good one. My Tiffany couldn't outbloom him. And I agree with the comment on Tiffany's blooms- they smell wonderful, but they don't last very long at all.

New Zealand. Great, healthy bush with wonderful foliage, fragrance to die for. Excellent repeat.

Valencia you already have, great cutting rose! I also love Veteran's Honor, Bride's Dream, Elina, Alec's Red, Brigadoon, and Chicago Peace. AR is intensely fragrant; the others mild to moderate. but all are prolific and last well cut. I love Chrysler Imperial, too, but it's only good for about 3 days for me as a cut flower; prolific, though. I just got Pope John Paul II; can hardly wait for next spring's flush. I've got the spray bottle ready for those flower buds, though, to minimize the thrips damage. Elina, particularly, is very easily damage by thrips. But she makes up for it by being as prolific a hybrid tea as you'll likely ever see. Very luminous ivory color, too.
