ID the tree from seedlings.

I planted seeds from a tree at the pool at the caribean resort in Disney world. The seeds were in long dried bean pods that fell apart when they were picked. I planted the pscs and this is what grew. Can any one ID this tree. One possibility could be a wisteria trained as a tree.

Please don't tell me it's a weed.

Sorry, don't know what it is, but opposite leaves means it isn't Wisteria.

And from the fact it was in the Caribbean area, I would assume it's tropical and must live inside all winter.

I thought it looked like a UK house and garden but was fooled by the OP name ;-) No way of knowing what sort of cherry it came from but since they don't come true from seed, even if it is from an eating cherry, it won't produce the same kind of fruit. It could also be from a wild cherry, Prunus avium, brought in by a bird. All your friend can do is to wait and see what the fruit are like.

My neighbor has a pin oak but I don't think it's mature enough to produce acorns, I've never seen acorns anywhere in the neighborhood. I have what is possibly quercus nigra growing up through another tree on my property. Sadly I live in a typical NC development which is mostly crepe myrtle, pines, and maples. I would love to keep these guys going, although I gather that if they are water oak they're not desirable. One of them is in the middle of the "lawn" (bermuda). If I fence it off will it have a fighting chance or will the bermuda eventually choke it out?

Having photos from the side on the tree seedlings might help to show if branching is opposite or alternate 2.seems to be sprouting compound leaves at the base so perhaps a hickory 3 looks like a sunflower 4 looks like another hickory 5 might be a birch if it is woody

Looks like Tabebuia impetiginosa, purple trumpet tree. It has pink/purple flowers, which are followed by the long pods you saw. It's not a weed. It makes a nice small tree, but is hardy only to the low 20's, so you'll definitely need to shelter them in the winter.

I forgot about the opposite leaves but a picture of the wisteria pods look the same as the pods that were on the tree.

I came to the same conclusion.

I'll do a search for that tree.
It was out in the open by the pool and I have a window with afternoon sun at work and a spray bottle.
Any oyher ideas
