Very healthy plants with great roots, very helpful staff. Wouldn't hesitate to order from them or ask them questions about whether a rose would work for me or not.

Mike, I bought an ownroot Silver Jubilee and an ownroot Peter Mayle from Northland Rosarium three years ago. They were small and very healthy and took off like gangbusters. They are real beauties in the garden today. I'd certainly order from them again. I had also ordered another rose that was quite small, and they refused to charge me for it because of its size. Cool beans.

Got 4 own roots from them either last year or year before (4 from RU the other year)....all are growing great. It's so nice to be able to plant a PLANT once in awhile, not just bare roots!! :0) Phyl

I ordered two roses from them years ago. I got small but nice and healthy plants from them. By now the - Northland - own root Rouge Royale about the same size that my grafted plant is.

I've ordered from them about 1/2 dozen times now. They're great. As with any own-root the size of the plant will be small vs a grafted rose. But every rose that I ordered from Northland took off & started growing as soon as it hit the ground. Carol actually called me yesterday as they were out of a rose that I wanted. I sort of wanted to keep this great little nursery a secret & all to myself. lol

I give them my thumbs up, also. Jardins de Bagatelle on its own roots... what a treat! They were very accomodating, and though the last order I placed with them was nearly 6 years ago now, I think the fact they're still in business is a good indication of this firm's high overall quality. They've updated the website, too, and apparently expanded the selection. Go with these guys if you're looking for own roots, though Roses Unlimited is still the very best in this business class if you ask me (just because they sent us our order before they received our check-- classy business that actually trusts its customers).

Thanks everyone! You've definitely erased any question I might have had about this being a reputible dealer. I'm looking at ordering Papa Meilland and Jardins de Bagatelle for the spring; possibly also a third rose.

I also highly recommend them. The bands I got from them this spring are all doing very well, while the simliar-sized ones I got from another vendor 4 years ago continue to struggle and be very small (if they are still alive at all - I've lost the majority of them). I'll give Northland all my business from now on.

Here's a picture of the "baby" Silver Jubilee I bought from Northland Rosarium several years ago. It quickly took off, and today it's blooms are awesome! Having this highly rated hybrid tea on its own roots has made it much hardier in my zone 5 garden.
