When do your Hybrid Teas peak in autumn?

For a comparison on how many weeks of the year each rose class blooms, I'd very much appreciate having information posted about when H.T.s start and stop blooming in warm and cold climates.

In Northern California, where I live H.T.s produce:

May: first bloom cycle.

July: second and slightly smaller flush of bloom.

September: third bloom cycle peaks.

Mid-October, end of bloom, for 90% of H.T.s

The 1st week of autumn if snow hasn't flattened them :)

mid June - 1st flush
late July/early August - 2nd flush
mid September - 3rd flush (weather permitting)

Tell me again why I grow roses here??? LOL

I don't grow very many, I planted a few that I really liked as an experiment to see how well they would do where I live. I'm in the central valley in between Fresno and Bakersfield.
Mar 27th: 1st bloom cycle and every month after that like clockwork
July- in the high 90's blooms got smaller but flush same
Aug- when it hit 100's for 3 weeks blooms smaller & petals fewer, flush stayed same size.
Sept -mid to end of month, cooled off to 80's and low 90's blooms are large again and petal count normal. All in bloom now.

Last year my roses bloomed until Thanksgiving.

Sara-Ann, Another thing I thought of with Austins. In the light pinks there are many look-alikes. And white-based pinks vs. yellow-based pinks. Cameras can make the first appear to be the second. That's a question to ask if you have a preference. And it never occurred to me that Austins can have 6 small flower buds each on 4 upright stems on a main stem. Duh. But until I saw 'Windermere' it hadn't occurred to me. Here is one of my lusts growing over 5 ft. with multi mini candelabras atop a long stem. For a bouquet I have to cut one of the candelabras with buds tightly closed and opened?! I also cooled on 'Queen of Sweden' for that reason. I love my 'Apricot Nectar' sprays but those 2 Austins ..... maybe it was the formality and rigidity of how the buds/flowers were held that didn't ring my chimes. Growth habit (Austin) was the biggest adjustment for me. I still love the sculptured beauty of a hybrid tea bud but Austins in the blended pink/peach tones make me swoon.

Grandifloras are more hardy than hybrid tea as own-root. Chamblee's Nursery in TX used to classify floribunda as hardy to zone 6, grandifloras are hardy to zone 5, and hybrid tea varies vastly in hardiness. My grandiflora and 5th-year own root About Face is 6 feet tall as of today 9/12/22: Hybrid tea Veteran's Honor is very hardy, it's a 6th-year own root. I moved it 4 times due to lack of sun and poor drainage, but it's always healthy. It almost died a few times thanks to moving. Pic. taken August 2022: Own-root Mirandy is VERY hardy with its long root. I regret killing this 4th-year own root per my daughter's request (it's too thorny for her when she was in kindergarten). When I dug it up, the root was at least 1 foot long, despite being next to a tree. My husband loved its color and long-lasting in the vase. Mirandy has THE BEST SCENT among fragrant red roses that I grow (Barcelona, Munstead Wood, Rouge Royal, The Dark Lady, Tess of d'Ubervilles, Firefighter). I might order it from Roses Unlimited again since I miss its fabulous scent and health. Never see blackspots on Mirandy. It did so well despite bad and dry soil (next to a tree), so I want to give it a better chance.

These above mild temps surely can't last too much longer and I wouldn't be concerned of what new growth possibly continues to push. The tops will be tender and very sensitive to freezing back, though the lower older portions of stems will be hardening up. You can top the plant back somewhat when really cold weather arrives to prevent it from being thrashed around in strong winter winds, though leave the hard pruning until spring. Oh, and do mulch that rose really thickly, as your Chinooks will want to eat up any snow that falls upon it.

Off hand, I think I only have one, so it must be my favorite - Rouge Royale - and I am not going to post that photo again. I'm getting weary of it so I know everyone else must gag. It's news to me that Twilight Zone is a HT. Mine doesn't look like it in bush or bloom form. So, it's another favorite. Roberto Capucci - I planted him, changed my mind, put him back in his original band pot and he's bursting at the seams to get in the ground. I love him even though he hasn't bloomed yet. He's an eager one! If we're calling Quietness a HT, then it's definitely up there with Rouge Royale, and they look smashing together. Cream Veranda and Westerland are HTs?! No way! Mine have been keeping this little secret to themselves. Geez, I didn't know I had so many HTs.

I live in Northwest Missouri right on the Missouri River and on the Northeast Kansas border. I am supposedly in zone 5 or 6 depending on the map. However I think I am closer to being zone 6 than 5. I get a nice show of all four distinct seasons each year without a doubt. It is a really good area to grow roses in right now so long as we can keep the Jap Beetles and Chile Thrips away from us and keep the RRD to a minimum problem.
I typically get four or five good flushes every year depending on the cultivar we are talking about. Some of my better roses almost seem to be continuous bloomers instead of having flushes because their repeat time is so short. They seem to be in bloom all the time. Floribundas like DayBreaker and Our Lady of Guadalupe and Chihuly are always in bloom starting around the middle of April and ending sometime just after Thanksgiving. I will quit fertilizing and supplementing around November 1st and just water on occasion if the need arises. I also spray with Wilt-Pruf to help maintain the bushes moisture level and keep the dry winter winds from drying them up. That is usually what will kill a good rose 9 out of 10 times. It's not the cold, it's the dryness they can experience. Snow is a good blanket insulator for roses, but in my area you can't depend on it to snow and stay around for awhile. Snow usually comes then melts and it gets dry and windy before the next decent snowfall comes along. That is very hard on a plant of any kind, not just roses. They still need some moisture to stay alive in the winter. I don't put all my hoses away for the winter just in case the opportunity arises to do some good soaking watering even during the dead of winter.

Here in the valley (Tracy)...
The bloom cycle was - April/May - Heavy blooms
June/July - Medium blooms
August - Light and small
Sept - Blooms are still small, but increased amount of buds and the color is deep and true.
