When a dog digs a hole in your garden/yard - where does the dirt go because you know there ain't a chance in "youknowhere" to fill it back in again. The dirt is just gone. Do they eat it?

the way i have seen dirt fly, it is probably thinly scattered over a wide area. should teach them to spread grass seed...

Hey, this weather has been terrible, can't believe the rain!! My irises have been blooming for a while now but it has been pretty spotty and they are still sending up new buds. Everything is off kilter this year. I wouldn't give up hope of flowers but I don't think you'll get much a few of mine started sending up buds and just stopped, I think the temps and lack of sun has got to them like it has to everything else. I will be so happy when this weather clears everyone is so miserable

So, is it 'effluvia' when the output of more than one pan is intended? Or is indistinguishable and mixed effluent still 'effluvium' and the plural 'effluvia' limited to the output of multiple cooktops into separate hoods? I suggest 'miasma' be limited to the result of insufficient capture and containment. kas

I would do the slab molding for that door, like the one in the last pic you posted. The fluted is just going to introduce ANOTHER molding style and you already have a lot going on on the other door. Plus, the slab molding could actually be beveled (cut the corner off) to handle the ceiling pitch if you needed to. For the ceiling, do you need molding at all? If the joint is nice where the wall meets the ceiling, I'd leave molding off entirely. If you need it to cover a gap or something, I'd take down the quarter round and use either a small cove molding or a small (like 1.5" tall max) door casing (flat on the back with a profile in the front - something like this only smaller and hung upside down so the fat side is against the ceiling). I think a true crown is going to be way too busy espcially given how tight it gets where the door meets the ceiling. You did a great job dispensing with the paneling and I'm sure it will look great no matter where you go from here!

*** But, nooooooooooooooooooooooooo . . . They dig them in all the wrong places.
My Brisa DOES dig holes deep enough to plant in, but never in the right area.

Probably in their fur and you won't find that out till they stretch beside you when you are just about to fall asleep. LOL Dogs, gotta love em.

Rozanna, don't you miss big old fireant mounds? They do come in handy to fill up dog dug holes! Had a couple huge unsightly but thankfully vacant ones yesterday that I used to fill in the hole dug behind Princess de Sagan.

I know of some dog lovers who built their dogs their own digging space. Basically it's just a large sand box, you need a few slats of wood for the sides and fill it with sand. Then bury some of their toys in it and encourage them to dig in it. If you can't stop them then re-direct them.
