Tired Of Abraham Darby's Brown Blooms

I have two Abraham Darbys. He has always been one of my favorites. His flowers are magnificent and smell divine. The bush has been relatively disease free this year without spray.

Unfortunately, his blooms have been very thrips prone (MAJOR problem in Florida the past 2 years), and they only look good for about one day (if that) before looking like balls of brown crumpled toilet tissue. The problem is that one of these Darbys is right next to my front door. The other one is in a mixed bed of roses, so it's not as noticeable.

I am tempted to remove the one by the front door and put a china or tea in his place.

What would you do?

Sandy
