More like when Oh when will summer time get here.
But really, I'm saving big bucks on air conditioning. Am hoping this means we'll have a warmer winter so I can save on heating bills.

Weather has been strange here also. Had a night at 49 degrees last week or so. Been hangin mostly in the 70's during daytime hours. Rains and thunderstorms here and there. No blackspot has shown up yet though.
We did have 3 days in the low 90's, but, that was back in late April or early may. LOL...

Karl, the weather gurus for our area have predicted the next 90 days outlook is cooler than usual temps, so it looks like we won't be needing the A/C for the rest of the year. They are also predicing a mild winter.

It's been hotter and drier than usual (I think you all have my rain!) At least the extreme temperatures are keeping the BS at bay. I'll hope for a mild winter for you all!

I'm fine with it staying cooler. I'm with Karl...I save bunches on my AC bill and due to my physique, I sweat A LOT when it is opressively hot outside, so it helps me out while I exercise. The roses are doing fine just so long as they get sun. It can be 75 out and if it is really sunny many of my blooms still fry, so it's probably for the best that it doesn't get too hot. I am a little upset about the 30 hour straight rainfall we just had in Ohio though as all my new blooms are water logged, but the rain was somewhat needed in the central Ohio area.

Got summer here and whining. But Abraham (Darby) is lovin' it! The rest are being nodding babies.

Yup, never really got here. I am not complaining, and my roses are LOVING it. My creep year is turning into a pseudo-leap-year for many of my new babies. My brand-new Happy Child bands, planted straight into the gorund, have doubled in size. Next year is going to be WOW!!!

We took summer is year, sorry. If you'd like it back we'd be more than happy to give it to you. If someone would just please tell us how....

Plenty of Summer up here and virtually no rain in sight here in the usually soggy PNW.
We're starting to get wildfires a month earlier than usual and that's very concerning.
After a very nasty Winter we're also hoping for a mild one this year.

Our weather man shows the jet stream every night. It's usually way up in Canada at this time of the year but this year it's been making a big dip west of Chicago down into the mid central states. This is keeping hot temperatures south and west and pumping cooler Canadian air into the midwest and east.
It's also making for lots of overcast skys with almost daily chances of rain for us. Seems like late every afternoon the sky get cloudy and looks like rain. Sometimes it does and other times it don't.
I have to cut my grass twice a week. Cold weather grasses grow like weeds under these conditions.

Like the other Texas members, I do NOT feel your pain. Large areas of Texas have been declared eligible for disaster relief because the extended heat and drought have wiped out farm crops and cattle forage. Those big round bales of hay sell for around $80 dollars apiece, and they feed about ten cows for about two days. I feel a little guilty about the water usage (from our well) that it takes to keep our large yard alive...there is a vivid line around the yard that shows where the sprinklers stop---green on one side, brown and crunchy on the other. We have a large pond, and I often think it would be very interesting to have a motion-activated camera out there at night, to see the parade of desperate wildlife. There is a deer that brings her twin fawns out to drink and search for a little grass on the far side of the pond from the house, in broad daylight now. Guess she can't wait for dark in these temperatures.
I don't much like hummingbirds (I know, you bird-huggers are horrified) but I finally put out feeders for them after I saw a hummer trying frantically to get his beak into a collapsed morning glory bloom. Nothing is blooming outside the yard.
It'll be interesting to see whether the winter brings opposite extremes.

Funny - but I was walking around the yard the other night with my dad just talking about how this summer has flown by (our Martins left on the 21st - which makes summer seem like its almost over) and how different this year has been! This really has been a summer (or not-summer) to remember, but for different reasons for all of us! I am lucky to be in the cool and wet region. Roses looking great this year, and I'm getting to see what some of my cool-weather-colors are! But horrid memories of the drought of '07 still terrify me. So my heart goes out to you friends that are in those areas.
