where oh where have my brugmansia gone

well we lost power for 4 days back during an ice storm and I lost all my brugs,but wasn't overly upset because they usually aren't hard to find.Now I'm begining to think I'm going to have my first summer in 5 years with no brugs.I can always find cuttings whether from a friend or ebay or here,but I haven'tbeen able to find anything!Is there somewhere I can buy reasonably priced cuttings?I feel like an addict without a fix,lol!

Visit www.worldofbrugmansia.com That site will have a great selection of healthy plants to choose from. I've purchased from the gentleman who launched that site, and I can vouch for the quality of plants he sends.

I bought a kong from eddie almost 6 weeks ago. It's been planted out and is doing great. Great plants, excellent packaging.

This is not exactly the solution you're looking for, but it works for us. We have a raised duck pen (torso level) that someone gave us for our East Indies that we keep outside. We also have a pair of Khakis that are making a mess in the barn. We've tried letting them out in the barnyard this fall and they cannot figure out how to head for the barn when it starts getting dark, but go under the chicken coop where they'd make good racoon food... So we're going to make a raised pen for them, too. We keep them in the pens all winter and don't start letting them out again until nice weather. I don't know if you're very handy, but I'll try to post pictures later.

Michael you are still good for a laugh ... as I look at the gothic roll call intro from a monty python slant ... "bring out the dead" would be my chant as I make my rounds with my wagon and my bell clanging ... they will not come back ... and besides the new are vibrant and exciting group thirsting for knowledge and shared experiences .. the valued and noble others have gone on to origami.

Wow...now that usually happens here! Instead, all the snow has melted in the back of the yard where the raised veggie bed is. I actually prepped it and put some fencing over it to keep the animals out. Minus adding a bit of leaf mulch and manure, the bed is ready to plant in. Just take heart knowing that you're closer to the days of "no snow" than you were. Linda

I think because of the shipping method RC uses, it takes quite a while for packages to arrive... they are sent by French Post, which is like our regular mail. I wish they offered a faster shipping method, but as of now, they don't. The good thing is... their bulbs arrive in decent shape, even after the long trip. I think 15 days is unrealistic... it's more like 20-25 days! But have no fear... they will arrive! My order took almost a month to arrive, and that was the replacement order. And still, the bulbs were in good shape. Wow, Palmcoast! 25% is a lot of mislabeled bulbs! And if I'm not mistaken, you're not the only customer to receive mislabeled bulbs from MZ! I often wonder what happens from the time the crates of bulbs from the growers arrive at the distributors, to the time they actually pack them for individual orders and ship them out... how do all these bulbs end up in the wrong bags or with the wrong tags? I wonder if it's because they need to hire extra help during the busy season, and the new workers are inexperienced...

Sorry to hear you lost your plants. I lost power for 3 days over New Year's and lost almost everything in my greenhouse. I just took a quick look at Ebay and saw that these people had brugs for sale, arghyagardens, dogwooderitternet and elgringo65 . I've bought from the first two and have never been disappointed. I've never purchased from the 3rd seller but they have 100% feedback.

They went to that big Brugmansia garden in the sky...with my plants & a lot of other peoples' plants too. Thinking positive, I should be back to trading at the end of summer & I will probably have some extras for you. Email me around Aug or Sept & remind me.
