Newbie on Alocasia...Need Help

I have Two Alocasia potted plants (indoor). Not sure of the species (common name is African mask),looks like an arrow point with the leaf edges being ruffled and a greenish-white vein down the center. The first Alocasia we had for about 2yrs. My wife repotted the plant and the leaves die back until now it is just a green stump sticking out of the soil. There are small bumps growing out, but stop then a brown "skin" covers them up. The plant is still alive, because there is still green and when tugged on it does not come out without resistence. The Conditions kept are 70F during winter,80+ summer, watering once a week, fertilize during the spring. humidity is 50-60% with artifical lighting. Can anyone help me get this plant out of this "dormant" state? What is the general care of these plants are these the right conditions?. Happy Thanksgiving!
