INFO for all Newbies who Received Seeds from Newbie Seed Project
Comments (0)Hi All, If you received "Lemon Drops" from me in your newbie seed pack, please be aware that these are Lemon Drop PEPPERS, not Tomatoes, as I thought they were, and might have put a tomato label on them so you'd know (joke's on me!) The donor tells me they are very prolific plants, and she got about 100 peppers from ONE plant Here's a little info: The lemon drop pepper, ají limon,[1] is a hot, citrus-like, lemon-flavored pepper which is a popular seasoning pepper in Peru, where it is known as kellu uchu. It is also known as 'hot lemon'. The bright yellow, crinkled, cone-shaped fruits are about 2.5 in long and 0.5 in wide, and mature from green to yellow about 100 days after transplanting (long season), they have fewer seeds than the average pepper, containing 15 on average. The plant is vine-like, typically reaching a height of about 3 ft. Like other C. baccatum species, these peppers were practically unknown in the West until the early 1990s, but are now gaining wide popularity. [2]...See MoreNEWBIE SEED PROJECT -- FEB 2016
Comments (41)Oh, My Goodness!! Wow. Thank you, Seed Exchange-ers! It just happens that so many of these were on company orders I was just now compiling! I (almost) can't wait to get these growing and seed collected from my own plants, not just sharing from commercial packs! Thanks to you, too, Val, for being the catalyst....See MoreNEWBIE Seed Project - MARCH 2016
Comments (42)Hi Denise, Your messaging is not set up. Go to the top of this thread and see the post with instructions, and the 2nd post is "techincal" help so you can set up your messaging, etc. You are not too late. I only realized this morning that March is over. UPDATE FOR EVERYONE: I have a limited number of packets. Some people who have posted/requested have not sent stamps, so if I dont get them soon, I will not hold them. Looks like April will be the last month for newbie seeds, then everyone will be busy growing and planting for this season's garden :) I have really enjoyed helping out the newbies (and must give much credit to the seed donors who have been SOOOO generous this year!) I hope everyone has enjoyed their newbie packets!...See MoreNEWBIE SEED PROJECT - APRIL 2016 only
