Silt loam or sandy loam...which do you prefer??

If you could choose (assuming you could have any kind of soil you wanted) one or the other, which would you pick?? On the one hand, moisture loving plants will thrive in silt loam, and you won't have to fertilize as often. The only downside to this is drainage. Drainage is decent in silt loam, but it will never be excellent like it is in sandy loam. I've found that sandy loam is my favorite soil type. You can always fertilize and water more, but improving drainage can be tricky...

Mose plants aren't super fussy when it comes to drainage, but some plants, like the western agastache species for example, DEMAND excellent drainage. Can you think of any other perennials (or just plants in general) that absolutely will not tolerate less than perfect drainage??
