Trying to Manage Bermuda Grass

I have part of my garden covered with lasagne type material...and just finished harvesting my sweet potatoes and amongst the sweet potatoes was the pervasive BG...What I feel like I am going to have to do, to get a handle on this stuff, IS DIG DOWN as deep as I can and pull it up....then remove the upright pavers that surround the garden area and dig it down deep and put some kind of barrier under ground...maybe like some metal flashing? 6 or 7 inches down all around the garden perimeter?

I had this area pretty well under control earlier in the season and when the heat hit, I just could not get out there to keep it at bay...

After I do this BG removal, what I plan to do is cover this area with as much OM as I can get my hands on and let it sit all winter...I have found that in other areas where I lasagned, the BG still comes up, but it's easier to pull up...and when I pull it up it seems like it's trying to grow on the surface and the roots are not deep (hope that makes sense)

Does this sound like a reasonable plan?
