hey, guys - I changed my screen name

I didn't ever like 'rosieredbud' and don't know why I picked it, duh.

Anyway, now I'm rainlily_sis and some of you know me as Sis (Adgerlady) from way back.

I have been lurking but not posting - shame on me. You guys have been growing the most amazing roses, I am duly impressed! But I should just expect it, you are all the bestest gardeners ever...

I got all excited over some zoo pictures I took and wanted to share them but not put a long thread in the antique gallery, so it is over on "Conversations" - if you are so inclined, I'd love for you to pay it a visit!

Hi, Thanks for your replies. Well, I did get an email from the tech support and they said I would have to get a new email address. This should work out since my internet service provider allows 2 or 3 accounts. I think the name garden wench "puts people off" or something. I just thought it was funny, like I 'toil in the garden' type of thing.

"The Government. When was the last time you had an interaction with it and were happy with the result?" It was the last time I had an interaction with a government agency. And the time before that and the time before that. Things have changed, or maybe it's just the ones I have been dealing with. I recently started receiving Social Security and the people I dealt with (including one guy on a 30 minute phone call while I was driving in the car) were knowledgeable and friendly. You maybe don't need to change your name with Social Security. Why not go ahead with the process to change your legal name but leave alone the existing account they deposit your monthly check to? Open new bank accounts with your new name and change over the other accounts you have using the authority of the legal name change. Or, maybe it's simple, ask SSA (as others have said) what to do. You've been thinking about this for 20 years and have done nothing?

Emily - on my windows 10 laptop, using Chrome, not the app, If I close the browser I have to log in again each time. It re-directs me to the Houzz url even though my bookmark is gardenweb. Every time. If I use my bookmark for Hot Topics, that opens with the gardenweb url but still asks me to sign in each time. Once I do, if I then go to another forum it stays with the gardenweb url but only if I start in Hot Topics. On my Android phone, not using the app but again a chrome browser, I don't need to sign in each time but I did have to this morning for the first time in ages. That opens consistently in the gardenweb url regardless of which forum bookmark I use. I don't use the app, don't like the app and wish Houzz IT would understand there are a lot of us who prefer to work off of browsers here.

You'd probably need to show the view in each direction. (Stand at center of the yard and take slightly overlapping photos of a 360*view -- without changing camera locations between any pictures.) And you probably need to show an outward bound view of 3/4 of the yard as taken from the patio center. (Again, in slightly overlapping pictures while the photographer does not change locations, but pivots.) And you'l need to show as close up as you can get of the yard from Google Satellite.

George, you are correct. You can only do it once. But I used another email address that I have with a different account. So really, I guess I didn't change my name, I just re-registered.

Hi Sis, good to hear from you.

May I make a suggestion? I find it hard to keep track of who was who on Gardenweb, and I'm sure others do too. What I did was add previous screen names to my member page so that people can look it up and find out who I am. The long bios people used to have were deleted by the move to iVillage and most of us never bothered to replace them. But it is easy to add former screen names if you would like people to be able to remember who you were.
