Topdressing lawn w/ compost - Add lime too?

I am doing the whole aerate/starter fertilize/seed/topdress with compost thing on my front lawn right now.

As I was getting the compost (free from the town), another guy was there and said that when he put it on his lawn last year, he didn't add lime, and he ended up with a lot of mushrooms on his lawn.

Now, granted, who knows what goes into the town's compost, so it could very well be introducing new fungi into the lawn, but I have 2 questions (Keep in mind my front lawn PH between 6.2 and 7.2, this was after adding 280 lbs of pelletized dolomitic lime to the 5500 sq. feet of lawn last year after aerating)

1-Can fungi survive in the heat of the compost pile?

2-After I topdress, since compost is slightly acidic, and since my lawn is high clay and tends to leach to the acidic side as well over time, should I throw lime on, let's say at a rate to increase the PH by .5, to counteract any acidity introduced by adding the compost, and also to help prevent mushrooms which I believe also like acidic soils?

Tnx!
