Compost quandary - having to share the goodies

I wondered what the thud was on my doorstep just now. Upon investigation I find the Council has just delivered my new food waste recycling bin along with a baby version for collecting stuff in the kitchen. From now on they will take away and compost all food waste along with the usual weekly recycling collections for glass, metal, paper and plastic. Our weekly rubbish bag now contains almost nothing except a few plastic bags and juice cartons.

So now what do I do? I want to support the Council's composting initiative but I always compost all my own food waste anyway. I think I'm going to have to start sharing a token amount to show willing and keep the rest for my own heaps. Anyway - 3 cheers for the Council - they are certainly making an effort.
