I'm behind in my yardwork due to rain and spring fever has hit hard this year! I have: very healthy young plants ready for transplant: lime basil mammoth basil sweet basil yellow pear tomato chocolate cherry tomato cherokee purple tomato florence fennel And also divisions of: strawberry geraniums toadlily miyazaki fans variegated toadlily fans both purple and red bee balm variegated hosta butterfly iris spiderwort pink oxalis very low growing almost succulent oxalis w/lg fuscia flowers chartreuse red striped canna-orange flowers (i think) hellebore seedlings crocosmia plants I'm sure there's more but this is all i can remember at 10:30 tonight! I'd love some meyer lemon cuttings if anybody can help, plumbago(leadwort)and almost anything else (especially edibles) i dont have bunches of already! Thanks and goodnight!

Well, I've been a bit discouraged about growing roses since I moved back to the south. In CA I had magnificent ones, but if you think black spot is the pits, try the orange version they battle out there. Now roses are starting to call my name again and on a recent visit to Charleston I spotted one I would LOVE to have. Anyone have any idea what it might be? The flowers (about 2 1/2 inches across) were palest pink - more creamy white with just a blush. And they opened out almost flat (old fashioned looking) with lots of petals in the middle. The canes were quite long on some of them we saw and were climbing/leaning over garden walls. The most amazing thing, though, was the fragrance! Fantastic! I would dearly love to have one of these to grow over a covered wooden swing I have in my garden. I can only imagine sitting there surrounded by that delicious scent!

Marlene, Cindy, Kathy, It was my pleasure to host the swap and we will do it again next year as well. I can't believe that the weather turned out to be the way it did, nor rain, sun and a few clouds, but I could have done with out all the humidity. And to think, at 6:30AM this morning I was sitting here trying to decide who to scream at first for pushing me to go with today for the swap. It was storming for the 4th time since 1AM this morning and the weather maps where showing a wall of rain and storms heading in. Who would have thought we would luck out the way we did. Glad you had a good time, we do have a wonderful group of gardeners that come every year to the swap and keep adding and adding to the selection of plants and seedlings every year. Marlene, I will email you if I find any more pots that Michelle could use, and you should tell her to start checking out the yard sales whenever she can. She will be amazed at the pots she can find that way and the prices are really a steal. Kathy, I checked some of the pics in the link and those flowers still didn't look like the one you gave me last year and I got seeds from. Happy planting to all of you and happy gardening.
