Managing leaf scorch caused by wind damage?

Hey all.

Looking for a little help (once again). I planted a beautiful pink flair sargent cherry around arbor day. It is on the northeast corner of the house and is protected from western winds, but gets battered when winds blow in from the east. Unfortunately, I don't have anywhere else to put it. The leaves were beautiful when it went in the ground (was containerized) and now they look pretty poor. The soil is well drained black dirt, and I've watered deeply about once a week. So, I think the diagnosis may be leaf scorch caused by wind damage. My question is, is this fatal? Is there anything that can or should be done to manage the situation? I really want to give this beautiful tree a chance. Appreciate any help.
