Lafu, you have a lot of company in dealing with heat-stressed plants. I recently moved a row of my camellias--planted in a western exposure but shaded by taller trees and shrubs. I have them in an eastern exposure. Make sure your plants are also well-mulched after moving--try to select a "less hot" day to do this if possible. I moved mine on a really hot day because I was so concerned and they still made a good adjustment as I think they were so glad to just get out of the heat. Have noticed similar heat issues with azaleas (planted in full southern exposure--can't move these) and some of the rhododendrons--especially those competing with trees for water. Hopefully the HOT and DRY year we are having is about to turn wetter.

I agree. There are tropical sans and desert sans. I think the direct sun is too much. Try morning sun or just bright lighted spot in the garden. Try not to cut too much off, They could heal themselves. Still have the spot to see.

I live in the central Arkansas region. It's not always windy, but it can get quite windy at times. This hasn't affected my 'Shirazz' at all. Mine isn't nearly as leafed out as yours, and it can dry out quite fast in full sunlight. I just step up my watering it, so that its soil doesn't dry out. It sits in full sunlight all year long and does perfectly fine. Just so long as I don't let it dry out for any prolonged period of time. I've also sprayed down the leaves with water in full sunlight. I don't do it all the time, just whenever I feel the need. This never negatively affected its leaves either. I also agree that that's just an old wive's tale. Gorgeous trees you've got there. Just keep it from drying out, and it should do just fine in full sunlight.

this is not interveinal chlorisis. this is not what Slender Silhouette usually looks like...usually, it's just green. What you have is a lack of chlorophyll. It could be a random chimera split, where it just occurred, will never occur again. If stable, someone may be interested...but that's a ways down the road, so don't get antsy. it could also be the result of exposure to an environmental stimulus...ozone, ammonia, or gas, for instance. Ozone usually presents with more of a perimeter burn on the leave, ammonia is usually more white. So the leaf burning is this case is just scorch. there's practically no way you're going to avoid some kind of sun burn or scorch in this type of situation. Use your green portions of the plant to guide you...if they are doing well, you're fine, the plant is fine. If they go chlorotic, then worry about it.
