Drake Elm Tree (north central Florida)
Comments (2)The tree is only semi-evergreen in the southern part of its range. If your grass is "dying" in winter, then clearly it is too cold to retain leaves in winter....See MoreCross Post on Big Time Tree Death

Comments (10)This question has been asked before - my mom lives in Treasure Island, on the waterfront & has a pomegranate shrub that my dad planted over 20 years ago - it seems to do fine w/ little extra care, & if it were properly cultivated, I imagine it doing great. She gets @ least 6-8 large fruits every year from the remaining plant (there were originally 2). Sorry but I've no idea what variety; flowers are the classic red/orange & fruits get very large & are pretty sweet. I believe he got them from Park Seed, if that's any help. Somebody else nearby is growing pomegranate as well. Here is a link that might be useful: Punica granatum...See MoreHelp Identifying Citrus Tree and Rot (Central Florida)
Comments (3)I was also going to say Calamondin. it's a cross between a kumquat and... I forget. A mandarin orange? Point is, like a kumquat the skin is sweeter than the fruit. It should get fully orange, but it will always be sour, similar to a lemon. In the Phillipines they make a kind of lemonade from the juice (they call it Calamansi if you want recipes) and use it in cooking anywhere you'de use lemon (on fish, etc). Calamondin also makes an excellent marmalade since the skin isn't bitter. By the way your tree has a magnesium deficency, that color pattern on the leaves in't how its supposed to look. :) A fertilizer with micronutrients, like Dyna-Gro Foliage Pro or Osmocote Plus will fix that up. (because its a waxy, time release pellet, Osmocote Plus is *extremely* difficult to f-up, which is always a plus for me, lol)....See Moreilovemytrees
