Novice Gardener - Have I killed my knockout roses?

I bought some double knockout rose bushes and planted them in my westward facing backyard in a place that I thought got a LOT of sun. After a week or two of watching them, I realized that due to the placement of my pecan tree several feet away, they get shade most of the time. They started drying up and the beautiful blooms died.

My local nursery told me to transplant them to a place that definitely gets 6-8 hours of sun and when I told them I was concerned about transplanting them again, he told me that since it had only been a couple weeks, the roots had not been established and it would be better for them to be moved to a proper place.

I moved them 2 days ago, reworked the soil with compost, added Miracle Gro Rose fertilizer, and have watered. They do not look different at all. Still dry and brittle....I think I've killed them. :( Any advice/comments?

If I haven't killed them, will they bloom again this season?

Thank you,

Casey
