They maybe in shock, so wait a few days. If they are alive, they will bloom again, unless something drastic happened. Also, don't put any synthetic fertilizers when you are transplanting next time. Use compost lightly augmented with blood meal, bone meal and a couple of tablespoons of Epsom Salt instead.

Also, in case the KO dies, get some real roses. You will be happier in the long run that you did. I am sorry to say, but for some reason, I can't accept KO's as real roses. They maybe real roses, but to me they seem like imposters.

You should of skipped the Miracle Gro fertilizer. Let it try and recover first and keep it well watered.
You might want to provide some shade for it during the hottest parts of the day for few days. Like use a chair or something.
If you think at some point it's dead, replace it and keep the new rose well watered.
What growing zone and state you in?

What parts are dry and brittle? Two weeks in the shade should not have done that to them.

It sounds like they did not get enough water or they got too much fertilizer. Keep them moist for two weeks at least. They may come back if there is any spring in the stems. Good luck!

Being in the shade shouldn't have caused them to dry up. How much water were they getting and did you add any fertilizer the first time you planted them? Are the canes still green? Do they have leaves?

The leaves and blooms are what dried up - the canes seem to be okay. I thought I had watered them enough, but I am in Texas Zone 7, and it gets freakin' hot here!

When I transplanted them to new sunny location I did use fertilizer again! (This was before I posted here, of course.) :( One of them looks to be coming back - leaves are deep dark green and seem less brittle. The other one still seems a bit sad, but I think it's even looking a teeny bit better as well...although for that one, it may be all in my head.

I watered them both very well today...at least I think so....I let the water flow through the hose in a small calm stream and laid the end of the hose at the base of the roses so as not to get the foliage wet...I left it there for probably about 15-20 minutes. Should I do more? Did I drown them now?! :)

I have some outdoor chairs that have a mesh-kind of sturdy fabric, so I can put one over each plant and that will allow some filtered light - or do you think I should find something to provide full blown shade for a few days?

I would shade it during the hottest parts of the day for awhile until they start recovering more.
Just use whatever chairs you have on hand to shade them.
And keep them well watered.
I use a 2 gallon watering container and water them as often as needed...
Not sure about your hose running under them?

A lawnchair has worked great for me for that purpose. I live in New Mexico - zone 7b - and have planted a few knockout roses. I always make a well around them (and any other tree or shrub that I plant) and fill it with some compost and then mulch to help the soil stay moist and hopefully a little cooler. My knockout roses were doing poorly until I realized they needed more water than I was giving them. As soon as I started watering them a little more they really took off.

Don't panic! They'll probably both survive just fine. Do the shade thing and keep them well watered but not drowning. Roses need about an inch of water a week but in this case a little more won't hurt them. And if it's very hot there they'll need even more water. And give them some time! The poor things just got yank out of their spots and moved into the sun and they're in shock. It may take a couple of weeks not a couple of days before they really begin to show signs of good growth. Once they begin to leaf out don't just stop using the chairs abruptly but slowly reduce the amount of time you shade them until they're completely leafed out. Then relax and enjoy your roses!

So far, so good. They're coming back. Slowly, but they're aliiiivve! :)
