Me too! I haven't sowed many of my flowers at all, tho I was planning on WSing my Dianthuses...I have 4 varieties to WS. And you all say they will do fine once sprouted even IF there are cold snaps/frosts? Wow! I'm totally impressed! Right now we have 3-4 feet of snow and ice, with another 6 or so coming yet. Here in Portland burbs in Maine I think we've received somewhere near 120 inches so far, with more to come! I have to work tomorrow...maybe I'll do more WSing tonight before the snow flies, that way the containers will get some snow cover. It's ok I placed some on top of the snow, right???? ...well.. they were on top of the snow a week or two ago...now they are buried in snow.....

Dkgarber, don't worry about your natives, not sure about the Agastache, but it is too early for the rest of them in our zone. I WS'd many of those last year and they didn't sprout until sometime during April. Technically I have a few sprouts (4 out of 65), so I am not eligible to be an official participant of this thread. But my sprouters are known to be early like Poppies, Alyssum, and Snaps, so I think it partly depends on what you sow whether or not you will have a good chance of having early sprouts.

Also considering having some work done. I have found some business cards posted to a local nursery. I also came across a list of landscapers who use organic methods. I am working through that list now. The costs are pretty steep. How do you know if you are paying the right amount of money? People I have talked to are charging anywhere from $25. an hr to $45. an hr from a master gardener with experience. The $45. hr person works with a second person and charges $45. for the second person too. 4 hr minimum and he charges you $45. to come out and talk to you, that is refundable if you hire him. I have no idea what his work looks like. He talks a good game which always makes me a little leary. So that is $360. for 4 hrs of work?!! That is like a week's work for some people. Does that seem unreasonable to anyone else? I also put a call in to a local tech high school and asked if they could post my job info. They actually told me that those in the horticultural program there, have their own businesses and they would pass my info along!! I was quite surprised by that. pm2

I'm here too, but mired in laundry and flyers for two mailings that I am labeling for my sister. I tried Pilates for the first time last week and I like it a lot. Now that isn't saying that I am good at it, but I feel like I can improve with time and I definitely think I will see a difference in my muscle tone. I am still going to Curves 3 times a week and walking 2 miles whenever I get the chance. I feel in control of my exercise and for the most part, I feel in control of my eating. I had to get weighed when I went for my checkup a few weeks ago and I wasn't happy with the number on the scale. But I do have to remember that I have gained muscle from Curves and muscle weighs more than fat. But from the way my clothes fit, I was surprised that the number on the scale wasn't lower. I guess that just proves that the scale isn't always the best measure of success. Mentally I felt exhaused last week. Too many phone calls and events that upset me and I couldn't shake that uneasy feeling that life was spiraling out of control. But this is a new week and I am hoping life doesn't hold any more surprises (at least unpleasant surprises) for me this week. I only have to work 3 days and then I get 5 days off. April is full of fun activities at school (field trips, ventriloquist, pony rides, etc.). I think April will fly and that means that summer will be here before I know it. Jen - I am glad the doctor's have found the reason for Erica's continued illnesses. Used to be every one got their tonsils out. But I think doctor's are more cautious these days. We are dealing with the Rota virus at preschool right now. Last week we only had 6 kids in our T-TH afternoon class. The 6 girls had a blast. We relaxed the rules a bit and let them play longer, choose whatever table they wanted to sit at and they got 2 snacks instead of one. But I am hoping everyone is healthy and ready to return on Tuesday, since that is their Easter party. DeeMarie - I don't know if I offered congratulations on your success with WW. WooHoo!!!!!
