Ha, Ha, no sprouts here either and none expected but I just had to do the sprout slide (stand over jugs checking all I can see at one time for sprouts, take a wide step sideways and slide the other foot over to look at the next group of jugs.) Takes about 4 slides in the front and another four sides in the back to get a eye view of the inside of all my lined up jugs--14-15/row.)

I've got about 20 containers that look like they will never sprout. Can I play here too for those jugs?

Token, my man, sorry but I don't think you can come to the party. I've been around the forum enough to know you are planting things out already. You have the green brother, let us without have some fun. We will be dropping like flies in the next few weeks. Good luck with your garden and if you want your non-sprouting jugs to hang out with mine just email me. I'll send a SASCBWPP you could fill for me.

When did everyone plant seeds? In January?

I am a newbie here, so I am curious about what sprouts
for who and in what zone.

I didn't start jugs until first week in March.
Some of the seeds I chose had a very short germination
period. Others say wait 20 days or more. + some have
to have a period of cold stratification , so I don't know
if the cold period has been long enough.

Seeds like Zinna's I direct so in May with almost 100%
results. Zinna's, gotta love em.

Does anyone else keep a garden journal?
I do but am terrible about keeping up dates.

No sprouts in South Dakota yet. We had some snow yesterday so it is ok.

Nothing here yet! I'm happy about that! I have a couple of beds I have to dig out before anything happens, and it's either been too cold or I've been too sick. I can wait a few weeks to see sprouts.

Well, out of about 15 different plants, only 2 have sprouted-Lupine and Catnip. I am very disappointed that my natives haven't come up yet (Butterfly weed, Agastache, Joe Pye weed, Coneflower, Wild bergamont, a few Rudbecka varieties). I forget what else is out there, but it doesn't look hopeful for them :-( The ones that aren't up yet are the ones that I most wanted. I don't care much abgout the Lupine or the catnip. Darn.

The weather has been crappy (20-30s) so hopefully w/a warm spell things will heat up

Sorry, dkgarber, you have sprouts, doesn't matter if they are not the ones you are most anticipating. Please join Token in the "I have sprouts" postings.

Well it seems almost everyone around me in Zone 5 and 6 has sprouts already but not one single speck of green in anything I have planted... (I'm not complaining, I still have bed prep to do.. LOL!!) I think the sprout fairy can see that I'm not ready yet..... LOL!!!

I have some lupin seeds that look "hairy" that's it. Woo Hoo!

Nothing for me here in zone 5 maine, either.

Some folks enjoy seeing that little green horse heading north... I prefer the zone 5 version much better...

Although I do have sprouts, I often give a little moan as the list starts getting bigger.
It's weighing out time to do gardenbed cleanup, figuring out whether or not to build an additional bed, etc.
I'm at about 37 percent germination now (65 out of 180 containers) and it's getting to be time to plant out before I have to worry about seedlings frying. But there's no time.
So if you don't have sprouts, don't worry. If you want a build of confidence, WS some lettuce and Bachelor Buttons...but beware. Once the wave hits you, you will be relegated to "Plunk and Run" mode quite soon!

And as always, the solution to "no sprouts yet" is SOW MORE SEEDS (of any variety you haven't already)!!! :-)

No green, non, nahda, zip,zero. It is a positive because there are 5 men crawling all over the house and garden giving us a new roof and all new siding.( sage green color to be a good backdrop for the garden) And positive because I can't prepare the beds until they are done. BUT, BUT, Very bad because I am a first year Newbie WSer and I got the nervous hover over the jugs 3 times a day. We have had a few 50 degree days and mild weather which makes the nerves fray a little more. I gotta go make myself a cup a tea. Elizabeth

I'm going to sneak in here, too, since I started seeing 'activity' in a couple of containers, and last time I looked, it seemed like they said "nope, uh-uh...ain't coming out" and now what I thought was activity is GONE.

Out of 173 containers, I have green in 2 (and I'm not convinced they are sprouts...probably weeds.)

No sprouts for me yet in zone 5 upstate NY. We normally don't put stuff out into the garden till May so not seeing any green yet doesn't bother me. Our temps haven't rise and stayed steady enough yet to make sprouts.

Clarkia seeds came up in 7 days but nothing else has show any green. So glad that there is still hope. It is suppose to be in 60's this week so I hope that will get them up. Can't wait.

No sprouts and I just prepped another flat for planting. The tulips by the house are poking up. We still have a couple of feet of snow on most of the garden.

Dkgarber, don't worry about your natives, not sure about the Agastache, but it is too early for the rest of them in our zone. I WS'd many of those last year and they didn't sprout until sometime during April.

Technically I have a few sprouts (4 out of 65), so I am not eligible to be an official participant of this thread. But my sprouters are known to be early like Poppies, Alyssum, and Snaps, so I think it partly depends on what you sow whether or not you will have a good chance of having early sprouts.

My stocks are peeking. I just added 450 litres (120 gal us, 100 gal imperial) for passive heating. I put my flats on 4 litre ice cream pails. We still have snow!!! It is going fast. :)

You were close mnswgirl, but why would I say stamped and postage paid? Keep guessing. And I still don't have any sprouts. There has to be more of you guys out there without any and I want to hear from you.

The little green wave is riding north and so going to slap nancy drew with some sprouts soon.
