Unbelievable! From your post in the tractors forum- "I have a john deere sabre 38 15.5 hp. roughly a 2002 model year. I had to replace the starter switch due to a terminal that rotted off of it. however now the mower will only crank and not start... NO SPARK! i double checked the letters on the back of the started switch and all the wires are matched up correctly to what they where before.. any ideas for me? i replaced the starter switch with one from stens.. mtd part number 925-02679. any help would be great!" Not exactly the same thing! You expect different answers in this forum?

mazz_jd318 I found where a serial number was at one time. Looks like it was removed by a pressure washer Now dealer needs number to sell me a owners manuel. Can the Yanmar engine serial # be cross checked so I could at least know which group of serial numbers my tractor belongs?

O.K., here's what it is, when you push down on the lever to make it drive, the rubber disc goes up against that round, smooth disc. IF you would have over adjusted, say, make it real snug on the metal disc, then you would do one of two things, snap a cable, or, if this is a metal rod you adjust, the lever would be hard to push down, tell you what,m email me the model and serial number. use my other email psmsmallengines@hotmail.com and I can take a look at what youve got on there.
