No, I'm not Roseguyla!! This is a rose I was looking for many yrs ago. I never really knew too much about it, except that the pics I had seen (and I can't even remember where) were so beautiful. Hortico had listed it in their catalog back in the mid-90's, but of course, when I tried to order it they were sold out. Never saw it again. When Mike mentioned having seen it last yr, I told him how I had wanted one and so, when he got the cuttings, he offered one to me. The rest he is selling to others who are interested.

I use pots for a few reasons. Mainly because I have noticed that my plumies stay happy. I use the cactus mix you buy at the mega-mart or the big box stores. I plant the plumie just like any other plant. I dig a hole just a bit larger than the pot (like stuartwanda said, it helps them to stay upright) and secondly it seems that moisture stays where it is supposed to, near the roots. Because soil is like a sponge, nearby soil will soak up the moisture, the pot is like a barrier. Also, when you fertilize, the food stays where it is supposed to be. When I lived in Orlando I would take the plumies in for the winter. The pot sinking made it easier to handle them and store in the garage for winter. I would back fill with mulch. When it came planting time again. I would trim the roots around the base of the pot and then sunk

Many sets of china are made witihout a teapot. Do you know where your grandmother got the china? There was a lot of china during the 70's that was sold/given away at supermarkets, drugstores and the like....you saved your register slips and with say $50 of slips and $5 you got a place setting.... I suspect that the companies which made the china for these promotions were larger companies making a specialized pattern. I have a set of 24 plates and mugs and salad bowls that are made in England which I boughtw ith the register slip and cash program. My daughter has a set of "Liberty Blue" which were my mother's, that came from the register slip and $5 program Some patterns were very popular....others not so much.
