Need help finding a rose for a friend who is like a sister

Last year (or maybe 2) I seem to remember that J&P had a rose that had a name that seemed appropriate for a gift fr my best friend who is like my sister. The best thing I can come up with dredging my pathetic memory bank is something like "Friend Like A Sister". That's not it of course. Can anyone help?

She recently had an operation, and I cannot get to visit, so I would like to send some roses. (they are rosarians.)

Unless she really, really wants a very double flower, I'd recommend Captain Samuel Holland. It doesn't have the thorns that Quadra does, won't get more than 15 ft tall, won't get out of hand, given water will have almost continuous bloom, and can handle most anything the climate can throw at it. From your list, the only negatives are that it does not set hips, so doesn't need deadheading, and it isn't particularly interesting during the winter. I believe it is from the same hip as Quadra. There is another rose from the same cross, Felix LeClerc, that hasn't been out very long that should be worth looking at. Captain Samuel Holland was a Tory surveyor who went to the Maritimes during the American Revolution.

The foliage looks right for Brunner, but the later flower photos also remind me of Newport, whose foliage is different from the photos. You can try the Burrito Method, but my experience is it works better on material which has already gone through a "winter period" where it hasn't been flowering nor actively growing. I wrapped various varieties for the presentation last night and some callused, but quite a few hadn't. It's highly varietal dependent outside of the optimal time. You can also try taking cuttings long enough for two-thirds to three-quarters of their length to be inserted into potting soil in a gallon can, with only an inch of two protruding from the soil and only one or two leaflets remaining attached, then placed in filtered light under other bushes or in the shade on the north side of the house. I root hibiscus like that and have had roses perform similarly. No one method works identically on every rose, every season, in every location, so if it isn't easy to obtain more, try several pieces using several methods. "Hedge your bet!" Good luck!

Now I just have to find one. J&P no longer has it on their site. I e-mailed to ask about it.
If I can't get it this year, I reckon I will send some "Scent From Heaven" and try to get it next year.
That too is appropriate. Many many years ago, when I first became disabled, someone asked me if I had a friend closer than my sisters. I didn't, so they suggested I pray for one. I did. Marta and I were already friendly, but not close. Shortly after that, we went Christmas caroling at a nursing home. Later, sipping cocoa, we found ourselves seated next to each other. I spoke of my father, who had just had a miraculous recovery from a heart attack when he was one of the first recipients of experimental TPA. She said that her father had had a similar recovery as one of the first recipients of experimental angioplasty. We are both "daddy's girls" and found ourselves talking about them. They were both rosarians and bred (as they were then called) Seal Point Siamese cats. This was all lots of fun, but when we discovered that we had the "same" abusive mother, well., the bond was set.
On 9/11, I got calls asking about my husband, who worked a few blocks from the twin towers. The most touching was from Marta, who was returning from overseas with her husband. They were in a plane that was being re-routed to Canada. They were allowed 1 call from the plane to family to alert them of their situation. She called me to ask about John.
I hope I can find this rose.
