Can you tell me how much oxygen a full-grown tree actually supplies and how many young trees are needed to replace a full-grown tree in its oxygen production?

This question falls into the area of one of my professions, and therefore, I can answer it for you:
A full-grown coniferous tree of the fir kind produces a quantity of oxygen every 24 hours that is needed for 12 adult human beings to live and breathe.
For the second question, if you make a comparison with an oak tree of 100 years of age, then 2,563 young trees of the same kind are needed to produce as much oxygen as the full-grown tree.

Well, yes I am interested in how much oxygen is produced by trees.

But who on earth are Billy and Senjase and what does that link have to do with trees? Interesting that they format their site to look just like Wiki.

Thanks fruitnut. I hadn't thought about grafts and rootstock. Looking at the other tree (also 30 -45 years old) it's hard to tell where the graft was, assuming there was one. It also has multiple trunks, though I know it hasn't been trimmed/cut down in the last 28 yrs. Maybe I'll let the new/old one go another year and see what happens.

Hi Sandy Thanks for some interesting information- if I just read more on this site from smart people like yourself, I wouldn't have to spend all my time thinking up crazy ideas. Wow, a pint of hydrogen peroxide per 1000 gallons? Any certain kind of hydrogen peroxide, just like what you buy in the drug store? Do you put this in just once, like pond salt, or do you keeping adding more as time goes on? I'll definately have to try that that this weekend! My pond does have a good (2500 GPH) water cascade coming from a temporary suspended filter. I'm rebuilding the permanent waterfall(filter) and stream right now. It's also completly covered by shade trees. I wasn't sure what you meant about the rubber bellows. I had planned on just running a hose from the regulator directly to an air stone at the bottom of the pond. I'll probably still try my O2 cylinder idea- I'm a welder/frustrated inventer, I love putzing around with ideas! Thanks for your great ideas, I'd love to learn more! Chris

Diane, You're welcome. Yes it is fiction but it is based on the drought that hit the Great Plains from approx. 1949 through 1957. During that period of time, rainfall averaged less than 40% of usual and many cattle ranchers were driven out of business. In one year in the 1950s, Lubbock, Texas, recorded no rainfall. So, the conditions were not unlike the Dust Bowl days although by the late 1940s the Soil Conservation Service had put many programs into place that prevented, largely, a repeat of the dust storms of the Dust Bowl years. I believe Mr. Kelton wrote this incredible book to put a human face on the suffering of the Texas ranchers during that time, when many of them were driven out of the cattle business. It was because of the 1950s drought that Texas embarked upon an ambitious program to build reservoirs so they could stockpile water to avoid a recurrence of the Dust Bowl Years and the 1950 Drought years. When you read "The Time It Never Rained", you can just put yourself in Charlie Flagg's shoes and imagine how horrible it was to not even be able to feed your cattle or sheep and, eventually, yourself and your family. For Charlie, there were some things more important than 'saving the ranch at any cost'. He wanted to do things his way and maintain his independence. He didn't want to take a 'handout' from the government and he didn't want the government telling him what to do or how to do it. He just flat didn't want to compromise his own principles. That's part of what makes the book so fascinating---it wasn't just a struggle with nature, but an internal struggle to stay true to what he believed in. I had relatives who farmed and ranched in Texas in the 1950s and 1960s and they thought Elmer Kelton captured the reality on paper so well. "The Time It Never Rained" is a great classic western tale and it is one of the reasons the Western Writers of America named Elmer Kelton the greatest western writer of all time. For as hard as times are now, this novel is just such a chilling representation of one fictional man's life during some incredibly hard times, and that's why I like it. It reminds me how easy we have it much of the time, and it reminds me that when you make your living from the land, it can be a hard life with, perhaps, more downs than ups. I just telepathically contacted the aliens I know and they told me that the aliens that Konrad quoted above should not be trusted. They say that Konrad's aliens are giving us false information as part of a plan to take over the Earth. I know my aliens personally and can vouch for their truthfulness and honesty. Konrad's aliens cannot be trusted (not even for information about how much oxygen a full-grown tree can produce)!

It's the other way around,.. your earthly aliens can't be trusted when is comes to knowledge of plant live, nature with all live forms, our environment, pollution, global warming, epidemics, history and age of our solar system, galaxy, universe, our existence, health, etc, etc...which was handed down to Billy in the contact notes. There are hundreds of books, some not translated yet. Lots to learn, lots to read!

Billy still get's contacts until the day he dies, almost daily, not physically, telepathic, or he can tap into storage bank, thousands of light years away, retrieving knowledge in symbols and translates them in German.

I found this contact note about trees and oxygen and thought some people might find it interesting. There is another one, about how to plant trees...couldn't find it anymore.

I know, for some of you it's all bogus, I'm not here to make you a believer, I was a skeptic for about 30 years when I first checked out one of he's book about in 1981. It just happen not long ago that I wanted to check it out again to what had happened in the meantime, knowing that now there are over 40 eyewitnesses who can back up he's stories, even the Swiss army knows of the UFO,... only one of the pilot was talking.
It's all kept quiet, just like the Roswell incident.

Billy wrote down many predictions already when he was only 14 years old and all came to be.
