Who makes Deere's saws?

My statements hold true for Stihl trimmers and blowers as well....what kind of problems are your "operators" experiencing.....they are bullet proof. They don't own the majority of the commercial market from owners with down time. Deere is a marvelous company that makes many great machines.....chainsaws in not one of themÂ..In fact they are usually just branded Deere. If you are in the market for an ok consumer grade chainsaw than Deere might be acceptable. If youÂre looking commercial I would say Stihl, Husq or Jonsered, and some of the Echo line. Deere is not in the same league. If youÂre looking consumer/residential grade a better saw for maybe a little more would be husq or echo....See MoreRyobi chain saw woes
Comments (3)Check the fuel lines, they are the likely culprit of the leak. Is this the first time you are starting it since sometime last year? The carb could be gummed up. I am guessing there are some maintenance issues with the machine, on top of the poor quality of the saw. If you are not comfortable with engines, I think this thing is better off on Cragslist for $10 or whatever "as is". It will not be worth it to take it to a mech to fix it. If you can't fix it decide if you really need a chainsaw and will take care of it. Then go get yourself a $2-350 saw. Stihl, Husky, Echo and there are others that are worthwhile. But concentrate on dealer support and that will likely be the first two, with Echo in third....See MoreMcCulloch Chain Saw
Comments (2)1. The youtub at this address below might help. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3lmi3rtmh0 2. I found and shared most two cycle's carbs fuel lines info in a post. IâÂÂm not able to find that post. If you remember it, please post it again. 3. Taking good digital Pics before and while disassembling is a plus. Except! Some jobs look so simple,â IâÂÂll say I wonâÂÂt need thatâÂÂ. WRONG!...See MoreGas stabilizer in chain saw
Comments (9)Hi, Years ago when gasoline was "real" gasoline, the shelf life was much longer. What I mean is, originally all gasoline was simply made from distilling gasoline from crude oil. Today because there is so much demand for gasoline, a large percentage is made by "Cracking" other distilates to form gasoline. This gasoline is more prone to breakdown because it is more chemically unstable. Stabil and other similar products serve as a preservative. Oil companies usually do not put such preservative in their products because most consumers will go through a tank of gasoline in their cars in about a week or so. So it would be an additional expense which would not be required. Lawn mower folks, only get though maybe a can of gas in a month or two. And in some gardening products, such as blowers are only used during the autum season. Any petrol / gasoline left in the tank will break down to form varnishes and other esters. I actually have never emptied out the gas tanks of my gardening stuff. I do though always use stabil in my petrol. It is not that expensive. I think a $US 7 Stabil will last me a whole year or more. I use about a gallon of gas a week in the mowing season. Best, Mike....See Moremasiman
