Fertilizering Containerized Plants IV
Comments (332)The biological world that needs to happen in such a perfect manner and consistently is makes no use to use any organic fertilizer in containerized plants. You’d be surprise at how much money is made on that and how much money people spend. There is a lot more to it than what I said but I have spent hundreds of dollars with no good results I wish I had saved before I ever discovered this particular forum. Not a one person I know very successful with perfect growing container plants uses organic fertilizers anymore except for in ground. One good fertilizer that gives your plants everything they need is all that is needed. Then of course growing conditions plays a huge part too Mike...See Morebeware of cold emailings!!!
Comments (6)Ok...say I want Lord Anson sweet peas. What I would first do, is post a Want thread with Lord Anson in the subject of posting line....and let it ride. If I didn't get any replies, then I would do a search of members lists, and see if someone might have it. I'd then check their want list, and send them an email requesting a trade, offering one or some of their 'wants, or else ask that they check my list. I've gotten 2 cold emails this week, and have not had the time to check them out really well....too many plant trades in different stages this week and early next week. I think both might be for plants...where they saw me 'offering' them up on someone else's thread. I'll check them out better when I get a little more caught up and maybe trade, asking that they mail first. They may turn out to be some really great trades.... Sue...who loves to see the mail lady pull in with 'boxes' to deliver. Here is a link that might be useful: When trading don't forget to check the Rate and review Forum...............See MoreWhere to Find Some Cheap Water Plants?
Comments (20)I don't know where you live, but in Colorado or nearby states, www.waterplants.com would be a great choice. the aquatic plant farm is near Sugar City, 20 minutes east of Pueblo. I actually visited the farm and received first-hand expert advice from Victor Plawski, the owner. I viewed a multitude of waterlilys of all different types and picked out the most prolific tropicals and hardies. Now I have lilies in my pond that have enormous pads and blooms everywhere; I even had some mailed to me and they are doing great also. I bought all kinds of marginals for my bog filter and they are doing great too. It gives me confidence to buy plants from zone 5, rather than some tropical state down south. I bought one unlabeled waterlily from Lowe's. It is doing fine, but it turned out to be a dwarf yellow bloom hardy called "helvola". I think that Lowe's must be selling dwarf varieties because of their small preformed ponds. The prices at waterplants.com are much lower than the local pond stores and the plants are as good as they get. My best tropical lilies are Star of Zanzibar and Star of Siam. My best Hardies are "Colorado" and "Mangkola Ubol" (an Asian variety). They are doing especially great with the water temperatures in Colorado Springs, CO. I get only 6 hours of full sun a day until the pond gets shaded by houses. My tropicals will not survive the winter, but I will buy new ones in the spring. They are well worth the price to consider them as annuals. They send up 5 times as many blooms as a hardy and the pads are over 1 foot in diameter; covering an area at least 6' across....See MoreBeware Lowe's Appliance Sales
Comments (28)I bought my appliances at Show Low, AZ Lowes in early 2020. Wasn't told they were floor models, bought the extended warranty also. Didn't deliver and when I called was told the cooktop was missing a regulator so they ordered a new one. The other appliance is a double wall oven also a floor model. Finally got them delivered. They were purchased for a new house in TX. Didn't get to move when scheduled due to the pandemic. Moved in Jan. Had gas lines run to the new house for the cooktop. First installer finally came 6 weeks ago to measure, etc. He told me the oven had the wrong power cord on it, I needed the outlet for it changed and have the circuit upgraded. He quit so the company declined the installation. Last week a new installer came. Neither of the appliances has any internal parts have power cords changed so only lights work and the heat source can't be activated by customers. Paid for the installation through the local Lowes, Bastrop, TX. Now nothing can be installed and repairs probably aren't possible without totally rebuilding it. Manufacturer warranty expired before I even bought them and the Lowes Protection only covers installed appliances, funny they sold it to me knowing they weren't installed. Call and call and sometimes someone answers someone always has to talk to their manager who isn't there right now but they will take a message and have them call me back. Still waiting and I call about every other day. Have even been into the store and been told the same. Oh and the store where I purchased it says I signed an as-is document, that they can't produce because I never signed one. I would never have purchased floor models I was told they were special orders that had not been picked up. Boy have I learned a lesson....See Morepitimpinai
