P. sunflr placement/Do blooms grow in 1 direction only?

I just got a group of 3 perennial sunflower multiflorus Flore Pleno plants from Bluestone Perennials. :0) I was going to plant them all together in a group against a fence which faces south. And maybe keep them supported with peony cages or something, so they don't lie on the ground due to their weight. They supposedly grow to around 5-6 feet.

But it JUST occurred to me that MAYBE it is like its annual cousins...and maybe I can ONLY plant it on the WEST side of my back yard, if I want its blooms to FACE EAST or NORTH in the direction of the inside of the garden (OUR BACK YARD FACES NORTH).

Can anyone picture what I'm talking about? Unfortunately, we have so many flowers/veggies planted in our backyard, that I don't know if there is any space left on the west side of our back yard fence. I'm growing them not so much for their landscape appeal as for bouquets.

Thanks for your advice! :0) Phyl
