Hello all...introducing myself with pics

I've been lurking and learning for quite some time. Thought it was time to post. This site is wonderful, so much wisdom and helpful gardeners, thank you!

I purchased my home 4 years ago and started my first bed, and kept going and going. It's been a learning experience and very rewarding. I have done it all myself with the the exception of one small area of sod removal. I just couldn't pull anymore up and paid the neighbour boy to finish it.

I've had hills slopes roots and rocky areas all to tackle lol. Like I said...a learning experience.

The pics are all from my front yard (lining the driveway) as it is most mature. Some are from last year and others this spring.

Don't know how to post more than one pic :(

That's such a pretty arrangement. Thanks for sharing, and welcome to the forum!

There are two way to post pictures - one allows you to select pics from your own computer, by clicking on the Choose File button. It looks like it only allows you select one, I'm not sure.

The other way allows you to post as many as you like but it requires you putting the images on a 3rd party site like photobucket. Then you just select the HTML tags and plonk them right into your message.

Wowee, you'll fit right in here girl! Those are gorgeous. Got smoky mountain autumn this yr., but still no scapes, looks like I may have to wait untill next yr. to see its pretty face. Isn't it funny that the blooms are so big on such a short plant. I love the color. You sure do have some fancy ones! May I also say that the plant label on the SMA is a nice one too! I have the dumb old little white plastic ones from Walmart, they are starting to fade already! Guess its a good thing Ive spent so much time out there that I know where every one is. Next spring when the ground is bare will be the problem. Thanks for your lovely pics! -Jessica

Welcome Susan!!!! This is a great forum with very talented members. Hope your recovery is fast! I also like to 'put up' stuff and garden. I moved from Central Florida to a small (very small lol) SE Georgia town (community) and I have no quilting friends here so I depend on our forum for knowledge and entertainment. Hi! And welcome! Yes -- just open a free account on Photobucket (there are other sites but I use this one ....) Then uplocad your photos to your album -- when you move your cursor over the photo -- four codes will appear under it. Simply click on the HTML one -- and it automatically copies -- then go back to your message here on GW -- and paste it into the body of your message! ((thank the stars for the person who figured out the auto-copy feature -- SO much easier!!)) Hope this helps! :) Jan (who is VERY high-tech challenged ...... LOL!!!)

Ohmanomanoman, Flamey! I am so glad we quit smokin' we were able to totally relax without having to worry about being late if we went to have a smoke - in fact we didn't even think about a ciggy one time so we did good lol. We were pretty good with the waiting around but it was a really long day just the same ;0) Tell Jen to go ahead with the plans, I think we could all go on a family plan right?!!? ROFL Thanks Tammy, it was so nice because we just totally relaxed, not a thing bothered us and that's the best you can ask for isn't it? ;0) Thanks Donna, we were very happy to be there it was great!! I love that camera it makes me look like a competent photographer - it is a Rebel EOS and I am very happy with it. Yup, Joan Hawaii is a really really great place - in fact every time I saw a for sale sign I had to force myself not to stop lol. I think DH and I did ok ;0) Foggyj, it is paradise and DH and I were lucky to get to visit. Shoot Stacy, you're sweet to say so. Thank you ;0) Glenda, you were there for a month? That must have been heaven ;0 Gayle, thank you for the compliment. I didn't even think about trying to grow them here I think the dry heat would get them quicker than my black thumb ;0) but they are so beautiful. Thank you Cherbo, I hope you get to visit Hawaii some time too it's a wonderful place to visit. Kathi, you lucky dawg! I would love to try to grow them but I'm really afraid they would just dry up here, I didn't check but I bet it was over 100 degrees out today. Thanks everybody I will try to post more pictures next week we've got the youngest grandson here this weekend and he thinks I'm a grown up kid lol. (((((HUGS)))))

To post more photos (which would be lovely) you can just add a reply (or several) to this thread and add one photo to each response. You may need to change the title so GW will accept repeated responses.

You've done a wonderful job on your garden and congratulations for posting! I know how it feels to wait a long time and finally finally type some words down and press enter so all may see. It looks like you have a lot of nice colour and texture there. I look forward to more pics and posts from you!

I have downloaded the photobucket app (it took forever loading pics) and now have to figure out how to use it lol. I will post pics later as I want to get out and get some things done before it gets too hot. Thanks again!

They are all beautiful! Wonderful job! Welcome to the forum - everyone here is very welcoming and very informative. I remember thinking when I first joined how accepting and friendly everyone was! You'll never be without a response here!

And... where did that pin come from!?! I think I need one (and so does everyone else). Watch out fellow gardenwebers, I'll have a pallet of these delivered in a weeks time and they'll need homes ;)

You have a beautiful property and are doing a great job with it! You must be a natural gardener! :-) What is the purple plant and the pink one behind it in that last photo?

The pin I found on the internet....possibly Pinterest? I have no doubts you could sell a bundle!

The purple plant is an aster and the pink is a fairy rose.

OhÃ¢ÂÂ¦The Fairy RoseÃ¢ÂÂ¦I just added one and it's still tiny, so that is nice to look forward to. Very pretty aster too, surprised that it stays so low and such a neat mound.

Mulching keeps the weeds down and when I seen one I get it when it's little.

Grass is my enemy, always trying to creep in grrrr!

oh my gosh, what beauty you have created. sure will be watching for more pictures of thiss beautiful garden.I agree with you, photobucket sucks.last year I had no problems with it, posting pictures, but, my daughter bought me a new computer and I don't know a lot about a computer to start with, but,this one had windows 8 in it and I was use to windows 7,i have done everything but put my foot through this blasted thing and still cant post pictures with it this year.had trouble last year right after I got this blasted pc,and this year its even worse, so don't know what I will do yet.I don't give up when I want some thing bad enough, so will probably keep trying to figure it out.I have asked photobucket to help me, but so far no help. please post some more pictures of your beautiful flowers and gardens.

oh, and welcome to the forum, so glad you stopped hiding and come out to post pictures, your garden is beautiful,

Your garden is lovely! The thought and work you have put into it is evident. I hope you will continue to share photos and gardening tales here. I see more than a few of my plant favorites that, unfortunately, do not grow well in my climate.

Nothing draws me in more than pictures! I love your gardens. Especially a fan of the purple and pink combinations in your front garden. So lovely.

I lost it at the garden ho pin. I need one of those ASAP. :o)
