Finding parts for homelite hedge trimmer
Comments (3)uhf1483-don't give up, you are right, there was real quality in the OLD homelights. I have a st-155 trimmer, 20 years old and never replaced anything except for ONE sparkplug!!! There is a compound called 'doorease', it is a silicon based grease stick for lubricating latches, window glides (etc). If you rub this compound religiously on your starter ropes. ie.(before every third or fourth use) and spray silicon liquid lubricant into the take-up mechanism on your starter take-up reel you will NEVER replace another starter rope, this is a FACT. Sorry, I have no info. on parts....See MoreDo you remember the old linotype machines?
Comments (6)We have a couple of type drawers that Missy uses to hold her rubber stamps. When I was a kid our class took a tour of the Des Moines Register and Tribune building and saw the huge printing machines running very fast. Not Linotype but a later generation of printing. Have seen a Linotype in a museum, where I do not remember. Wonder if my ex still has the heavy paper press we found at an antique store used to make individual sheets 2' by 3'....See MoreOld trimmer gas tank
Comments (3)I have an old Green Machine that was discontinued years ago and had the same problem. When I went to a local lawnmower repair shop, they looked at it, went to the shelf and got another one that was identical. Another company used the same tank. A couple of weeks ago, I went to that same shop to get a shield for the head on that same trimmer. This time, they went to the junk pile and had an identical one from a brand that I have never heard of. Anyway, it might be worth a trip to a couple of shops (a different shop had told me that no tanks were available) and hope that someone will recognize it. If there are not too many cracks, maybe one of those plastic welders such as the one sold by Harbor Freight might seal them up. That was going to be my next step if I could not find another tank....See Morereputable machine parts vendor?
Comments (3)I've bought from a company with a similar name. I was very happy with their service. I was looking for a certain foot and bought one they promised would fit made by another manufacturer. They were right and the service was great. I recommend calling and asking about the Viking parts you need. They are located in Atlanta GA. Hope this helps you!
