Help! questions about my lasagna flower beds...........

Hello- I need advice! Here's the situation-

My hubby & I prepared 2- 30' x 8' flower "lasagna beds"-

wet cardboard down first on top of my lawn (which is comprised mainly of witch grass)

followed by moist compost

followed by moist leaves

& repeatedly layered it til it reached 12".

As I did this some weeks ago, I wanted to see if the cardboard was attracting any worms- AND to my horror-

the witch grass is breaking dormancy & is starting to grow under the cardboard in the dark! HELP! I tried composting witch grass last summer in my compost, & had to remove it because it thought it was on vacation & started growing rampantly! Now I'm afraid to plant my winter sown babies into it, if the grass will end up taking over! Any body out there in zone 7 with any experience with witch grass & lasagna gardening? Should I rake everything up (OH NO-this was supposed to be easy!) & spray round up?

Thanks!
