So NOW we know where to find you - LOL!! It looks really nice in there and the plants are just lovely. While on your garden site I took a look around, and you really have a nice place. I can see the thought that went into it. Have fun with your GH - looks like you are all set for winter!!

Ohhhhh, I've spent an evening or two out there! I'll be out there even more as (ugh!) winter sets in! Still haven't tested WiFi transmit capacilites, yet!!!

Thanks for the compliments on the garden! I'm actually very proud of it - since I had ZERO experience with landscaping prior to this (and, yes, I planned/planted almost all of it myself!).

There's been a lot of 'experimentation' (and several hundred $$'s worth of stuff that ended up in the compost pile!) But when it's all said and done, I'm *really* happy with it! We skip summer vacations and just hang out in our backyard resort!

Come late winter, however, it looks pretty dismal out there. I'm hoping the GH will allow me a little 'sanity' through winter!

If you were referring to a free website: Check out Freeservers. They offer 'Ad-Supported' web-hosting - but it's basically free. *I* don't see any ads b/c I'm on Firefox, but I'm sure others do. Heck, it's free - so what does it matter?!! If I got enough traffic, or was doing anything 'commercial,' I'd bite the bullet and pay for Ad-Free hosting (It's a 'hobby' site. So what they Hey?!)

I've been w/Freeservers for almost 10 yrs now. I'm very happy with them. And they've got Super-Easy Webpage-Building Templates available.

I have the Garden Page on a totally free freeservers site. My 'personal' page is also on freeservers (but I paid for my domain and wrote my own ['Beginners!'] html).

They're a *little* limited in that I have to send ppl *to* the website (rather than link to a specific picture), but waddya want for free? ;-)

I definitely highly recommend them!

Please explain how do you signed up for a fee space there when you have to purchase a domain name to use the site? If you don't purchase a domain name you can't get any further. How did you get a domain name for free to use the service when they charge $19 for one year? It's not free as advertised if you have to pay for a domain name. I've been through the pages several times and there is no free servers there. Are there actually free servers there I'm somehow missing? ???

You don't have to purchase a domain name. You can sign-up for a free sub-domain.

I do have my personal domain http://www.imqtpi.com (I pay for that domain name, thru Network Solutions, but the site "lives" on Freeservers). My Garden Page is on a free sub-domain http://imqtpi.freeservers.com

From their main page, select the FREE "Sign-up" option. On the second page, you have the option of paying for your own domain name, or choosing a free sub-domain.

Hi! :) There is no FREE sub-domain there. You select "free sub-domain" and it takes you to the next page where you either pay $19 for a sub-domain name or use the domain name you already have. Since I don't already have a primary domain name I would have to pay the $19 for a domain name for one year. So the site is only free for those who "already have" domain names.

I'm sorry i wasn't clear on this. You may have thought I already had my own domain name somewhere. So the question is or was how do I get the free sub-domain without already having a domain name?

If you go to the site and don't use your own domain name you'll see what I mean.

Hmmmm... I'll have to test that out!

It's been awhile since I set-up any new sites on freeservers, so maybe it's changed???

I just went onto www.freeservers.com and setup a new Free Website. It works, and it didn't cost me a dime (didn't ask for a credit card or nuthin').

I chose "Free" web-hosting on the first page and I selected a Free "sub-domain" on the second page. No charge, really!!!

If it still doesn't work for you folks, let me know. I'll do some "Screen Shots" and post 'em on the (new) website, to show how I signed up for it.

It's free, really! I'm very happy with 'em - and I have no "financial interest" in them. I get nothing for recommending them (I'm just a really satisfied customer!)

Photobucket is probably the best option for ppl who just want to post pictures. But if you like to "yak-yak" (like I do!), Freeservers is a viable option!

We're having our final burst of "summer" this week, and it's getting to be time to start breaking down the yard. Tiki Fountain's gotta live in the shed :-(

But I've really enjoyed him this summer!

As far as the Nanners go. No, I haven't picked 'em yet. I need to go visit the Banana Board to figure out when it'll be time to pick them! I don't expect they'll be very tasty. They're teeny little things - about the size of my thumb! But I'm just happy that we *got* fruit at all!

The Nannas are still pretty green - and I kinda doubt that they're going to ripen before we start getting our "freezes."

...Ohhhh, the nanna plants look *awful* after that (I'm getting depressed just thinking about it!).

Still, it's been a GREAT growing season!

And I'm glad I'll get to extend it (somewhat) into winter with the GH. In fact, just today I started some cherry tomato seeds in the bathoom window. No clue how that's gonna end up, but it'll be fun to try!
