Hey everyone. Been a while since I've posted here, but I'm loving seeing everyones plants so much that I thought I'd share some of my favorites with everyone as well. My oldest Thanksgiving cactus. It'll be 4 years in January. It doesn't look like much, but I'm thrilled with it 'cause it lost all its segments during the spring and I think it's coming back quite nicely. Opuntia santa-rita. One of my favs. Will be 2 years in April. Jade ovata 'Gollum'. Turned 2 in September. Haworthia fasciata. Really like this one. 1.5 years old. Philodendron scandens. 3.5 years old. Another Phildendron. Not sure of its exact name. Only 6 months old. Dracaena deremensis 'Yellow Stipe'. My mother can't grow these worth a bean, but mine's doing quite well I think. Will be 3 years in May. Dracaena marginata. Turned 4 in September. Ficus elastica 'Black Prince'. 2.5 years old. Hildewinteria aureispina. Will be 3 years in April. Coleus blumei. Looks quite pathetic right now but that's because I just cut it back hard. It always grows back beautifully. I'm proud of this one because Coleus plants are classified as annuals and this one is turning 3 years next month (Decemeber). Hope I didn't post too much. Thanks for sharing everyone and thanks for looking at mine.

PV--I grew them all from very small plugs. Most of them I got when Santa Rosa gardens when they had their clearance sell. Actually I think it's going on right now. They were like $2 a plug. These have been growing for 3-5 (or more) years now. The plugs are very tiny, but they will grow if you take care of them. I usually leave them pots for a year or so before I plant them out. I have grown the following from seed (they are still in the very small plug stage right now)--- festuca- elijah blue deschampsia- wavy hair elymus magellanicus-blue wheat grass stipa tenuissima- mexican feather grass I've heard the miscanthus varieties probably won't come true to seed. Natesgramma: I don't have much info on the subway tiles. Sorry. The invoice states 3x6 Navona. That's it. It's a common look so you should be able to find something close to it rather easily. But this light marble tile is matte, FYI and does not have a textured feel - it's smooth. Scootermom: There is an (aftermarket) single trash pull out on the right side of the island on the dishwasher side of the cabinet (had to ensure clearance for both being opened at same time). The pic below shows the other side of the kitchen leading into the FR. Czeck chick: The island base is standard size of 34h x 36w x 24d. The granite has a 10" overhang. We put doors on the front & back of the base cab for easy access since we don't have pull outs. The doors on the far side of cabinet (facing the white doors) have magnetic closures instead of knobs so they don't get in the way when people sit there. The base is constructed of plywood. Since the trash is under there, we store liquor and other things that won't be bothered by the trash. The light wood telephone table is temporary until I find something better. We'll be changing out the floor strip between kitchen and FR to blend better too. That's what the floor installers put down; don't know what they were thinking. Ewww. Here's some pics. Color me rainforest green... with envy! Those counters are stunning! I love the wildness and the colors ;) You went bold and it paid off BIG! When I picture my fave granites, they are with this kind of movement and panache. I love, love, love it!
