Garden Groom hedge trimmer
Comments (6)For anyone who is still interested in Garden Groom Pro, I am providing my thoughts about it. I recently purchased one for $149.00, although I was really a little skeptical about the results and whether I would be satisfied with my purchase. I have two large Euonymus shrub hedges. The one in the back around my patio is approximately 45 ft long and 6 ft to 8 ft high. The other which is in front, is about 40 ft long and 4 ft tall. I have decorative bark under each and have previously been laying a large plastic sheet to catch the cuttings so the bark would remain undisturbed. This was both time-consuming and much extra hard work which I did not enjoy, particularly with Oklahoma wind blowing the plactic around. My hope for the Garden Groom Pro was that is would eliminate some of this task. Well....now after a month of using Garden Groom Pro, I am very pleased with the results. The Garden Groom Pro not only decreases the time and work involved, it does a much better job than I had been doing with regular hedge trimmers. I would recommend it to anyone who is particular about the way they want their hedges to look and who want to decrease the effort to accomplish this. It is well worth the purchase price, believe me. My review is thumbs up!...See MoreNew hedge trimmer (echo vs. stihl)...
Comments (9)The high quality ones always have both blades moving in opposite directions for better cuts. As oppose to some cheap ones that one blade is stationary and only one blade move. Yes, a lot of people think just because Home Depot sell Echo, then they are not commercial quality. That HC151 is a tough cookie!!! Because it's too short, I bought a Shindaiwa short reach articulate hedge trimmer ( $$$$....my toy!!!) and I have been using the Echo to cut through over 1/2" branch to compact the recycle box. I mean I stuff the branches into the box, stick the HC151 blade into the box and cut through them, pack more down and stick the blade in and cut. That is a rough task and it really hold up!!! That is trimmer abuse!!! It is powerful, earn my respect to the HC151. Still quite sharp even after all the abuse....See MoreHelp with buying a good Gas Hedge Trimmer
Comments (12)Whether it cut like butter depend on the plants, some do, some don't. All the commercial brands that have true blades( cheap Craftsman and B&D don't) and they cutting ability is close enough. If you are willing to spend $450 I strongly suggest you to get the short reach hedge clipper. Here is one on ebay, new: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-KAWASAKI-POLE-65-ARTICU-GAS-HEDGE-TRIMMER-KCS525A_W0QQitemZ120326523051QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item1c040508ab&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116 And other on ebay: http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m38.l1313&_nkw=kawasaki+hedge+trimmer&_sacat=See-All-Categories Kawasaki is usually cheaper and just as good quality. I have Shindaiwa M242 multi tool motor with short reach articulate hedge trimmer attachment. I absolutely love it. I don't use my regular hedge trimmer anymore. I can control it to do all the work a regular hedge trimmer do and I can reach up higher. Try hold a regular hedge trimmer over you head for a minute or two, you see what I mean. Redmax, Shindaiwa and Husqvarna all have short reach hedge trimmers for a little more than the Kawasaki. Don't worry too much about brands, they all close enough. If you insist on buying a regular hedge trimmer, get a 24" or 30". As I said, go double sided. I did read a lot of posts comparing that. All the pros cannot be that wrong. I can tell you from my experience, I need to swing in both direction to get a good cut because some grow in one direction and some the other, if you can only swing one direction, you don't cut as good in the other direction at all. Also two edge last twice as long as single side!!!! Also, Amazon sell Tanaka also. Home Depot stuff is not crap!!! They have Echo which is commercial grade....See MoreLittle Wonder 2420 vs. B&D HH2450 - Hedge Trimmers
Comments (3)Definitely not. The Hedge Hog is o.k. for light consumer use but the Little Wonder is the tool of choice for the pros and rental yards.Of course the B&D will get more reviews because of the numbers. Most who use them don't know there are better products available and wouldn't pay the price if they did....See Moremulcher2
