I planted Pretty Jessica last spring, and she was a joy. The blooms were lovely, and very fragrant. I have her in partial shade (morning sun) and she does pretty well, although probably would have more blooms in full sun. Her rebloom was o.k., but since it was only her first year, I am hoping that will improve with age. I had no problem with black spot (no spray), but our zones are very different, and I realize that you have to deal with much more disease in your climate. Don't recall her being overly thorny, and she has a nice, compact bushy shape here.

'Pretty Jessica' has been really healthy for me so far.
Very mannerly grower, especially for an Austin.
Mine is almost thornless.
I got her from Roses Unlimited and like her so much I have another one on back order from Vintage Gardens.

Ah, I am so grateful for the creation of this topic! I've had what is supposed to be a Pretty Jessica rose for over a year now but I am growing increasingly suspicious about the true identity of the rose.

The shrub that I have has matt light green foliage with VERY THORNY canes.

Also my blooms don't match the colour of the one posted in the image above.

Mine are more washed our pink/lilac and more shallow cupped.

Newbie, it's not Pretty Jessica, but I can't help you with the ID. I'm sure one of our resident experts will be able to categorize it. Once it blooms and you post a photo, they can probably tell you what it is.

I agree. Your rose is definitely not 'Pretty Jessica'.
The new growth is not the right color.
And the thorny canes are the exact opposite of 'Pretty Jessica'.
