Wow, all the climbers I have, and none of them are pink except 'Renae', which is a wonderful one, easy to work with because thornless, and very fragrant, but there must be some others. Old reliable 'Clair Matin'? Modern good one from Carruth, 'Berries n Cream'? 'Compassion'? 'Viking Queen'?

thank you for suggestions...I was just at the nursery (again). I saw Pearly Gates, some little French rose Joy de something, Colette...but not Viking Queen or REnae. Will keep looking-thanks

I adore climbing Pearly Gates. Large, long-lasting pale pink that fade to almost white but hold their shape well.

Teakettle, I don't know where in SoCal you are located, but I have heard complaints about powdery mildew with Pearly Gates. Since it is a sport of the Cl. 'America,' I suspect that may be true.

Renae you would probably have to order -- probably wouldn't find it in a local nursery. But it's absolutely disease-free, and a free bloomer.

I grow Carruth's Berries n Cream, and it has good disease resistance. When it blooms, it REALLY blooms, too. I personally find the foliage unattractive, but that's a personal problem, I think.

Thank you - Mams you are right about Cecile-I have her growing in the backyard-up over the roof, dangling down, I have my potting bench under her. She only blooms once but what a show! Shes been back there 20 years...

A favorite pink climber for me is Aloha. It's on the short side, so doesn't overwhelm an arbor. Here it's pretty disease resistant, nicely fragrant, with repeat bloom. Oklahoma has hot summers but heat doesn't seem to bother it much. {{gwi:259459}}

If you're in the Valley, be sure to get Belinda's Dream. It loves the heat and blooms over and over all summer in my brother's garden in Stockton. Not a climber but a must-have, and it's pink. Here's a whole plant shot.

Renae is the climbing heat lover. Don't be put off by the photos. It's fragrant and mostly thornless. Try Burlington Rose Nursery.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I decided to go with Renae-thornless, likes heat and doesnt mind a little bit shade. I ordered her from Rogue Valley Roses as a "band". I have no idea what that is...
Kathy-I think Renae is somehow related to Pearly Gates. Thank you again-now if anyone can tell me what the heck I ordered....lol
