Craftsman power washer won't stay running
Comments (4)Sounds like a dirty carburetor! If you can clean it out, do it. If not mechanically inclined, take it to a repairman. there are tricks to carb cleaning, although a few squirts of carburetor cleaner in under the air filter might help. I not, then seek professional help!...See Morepower washer won't start
Comments (3)With any power washer you want to make sure you have water not air running through it as suggested. It's always good idea to first run all the air out of the water hose before you attach it. then attach it and turn the water on. Now pull the trigger and let the water pressure push all the air out of the unit. Now you are ready to plug it in and turn it on. I also don't recommend let it run very long without the trigger pulled. I know some have pressure shut off valve that turns the elect unit off, but it they are still humming they are still pumping. I never let my gas unit run very long without the trigger pulled(less than a minute) without shutting it down IMO not good on the pumps....See MorePressure washer low pressure
Comments (1)IMO The problem usually is something stuck, may just need loader valve or unloader valve dissassembled, cleaned, and seals lubricated (if you turn an adjustment screws make sure you count the turns, so you can put them back where they were or you will encounter new problems). Outside chance it was run dry and burnt up. IMO also it it had been run dry in the pass, (No water hose hooked up and water inlet pressure flowing through the pump they get hot real fast with no inlet water hooked up or if you run it and don't have the trigger pulled. I never run mine more that half minute without pulling the trigger to alow water to flow or I shut it off)It could be brunt up or just worn out. Only dissassemble and inspection will tell. Anyway what you got to loose it an't working now so might as well try it....See MoreWhy my next washer won't be a High Efficiency
Comments (33)Josephine, my Maytag (Bravo X, 700XL2) knows what to do with wet clothes. I use the rinse and spin cycle on DH's jeans most weeks, he can really get muddy. When that cycle is over (20 min) and the rinse water has spun out, I wash them using the 'bulky' setting with deeper water or it may not get residual mud from the inside of the pants legs bottoms. I would not put partially washed clothes dirty into my dryer to only have to clean the dryer. I freely admit he can get much dirtier than average laundry. (I've insisted he stand in the garage and strip more than once. No sympathy from me when he tells me he's worked all day and he's tired, he is not coming inside like that ;)) He's hiking off trail 4 days a week for his work in all kinds of weather through all kinds of terrain. Going through beaver ponds and falling off logs. My issue isn't dirty clothes not coming clean like I said above, it's only the amount of time laundry takes. We were at his sisters weekend house a while back and I put a load of towels in the older Maytag there, got to listen to the familiar sounds of laundry, big grin on my face. And 25 minutes later I was putting the washed things into the dryer, it was the first time laundry has been fun in a few years....See Moreheyduke
