Tips for searching any site because Not all site's search work very well --- Here's a tip for searching for any site using Google. WRITE IT DOWN* Searching a site like http://manuals.mtdproducts.com/mtd/Public.do they ask for the product's model. When you don't know the model you're stuck until you search this way: Put this into Google site:http://manuals.mtdproducts.com/ manual Any page related to any manuals will come up. Try it even if you're not interested right now. Any site can be searched this way. Want to search Granger.com for something odd that Granger search doesn't work for? put site:granger.com odd thing you want to find Here's some tips to help you get better results for any search. tip: if it's a super common thing but you know exactly how it shows up on the site use quotes to nail it down. into google put site:http://gardenweb.com "cardboard shredder" Any occurrence of "cardboard shredder" exactly like that will show up. but tip2 .. this site:http://gardenweb.com "cardboard shredder" won't find a page that says .... shreds cardboard because "cardboard shredder" is't the same as "shreds cardboard" in that case change the search to site:http://gardenweb.com cardboard shredder and google should figure out that the page which has .... shreds cardboard is one of the pages you want to see. Use "" to enclose a 'search term' when you know exactly what you're looking for or exactly what you know is on the page you hope to find. The tip for using " " to contain the search term works best when you have way too many hits and you know exactly what you're looking for. Last Tip: put into the search (for any search engine) the words THAT YOU EXPECT TO BE ON THE PAGE that you're hoping to find. Why it works like that. .. imagine what's on the page you hope to find.. A search engine can't read your mind or know what you want just by the words you type.. although they're getting smarter they can't read your mind.. you have to 'read the mind of the page you hope to find" then put that into the search. Search engines where you sign up with an account are watching your search behavior. Google does this. They are learning how you think and they do a better job at this. They will also show you things to buy or results that may not fit what you want to find today.. because it learned what you wanted yesterday. Beware of being manipulated. We're all already slaves to the way of the world. .. be aware that your behavior online is geared since 2010 towards selling you stuff you were looking for yesterday. Good luck. need more help? Put them all in the same place. Don't worry how to name them. Pick the first thoughts that come to mind and name it 'all' of those like Google.Tips.Searching.doc and then you can search the folder for any of those words and your document will pop up. Use this tip for garden tips, wood working, ideas, whatever. I have over 300 self made documents. My reserch is about 'the brain' and how we learn. When you write things down (and don't just bookmark) you actually learn something and you remember facts and relate to the information and become an expert and knowledgeable. WRITE DOWN things that are important. If you lose the paper you still learn the information.

If it's in good shape and has a newish motor - I'd say go for it. Mine's a 1991 model w/8hp B+S which I bought a couple months ago for $300 that has seen very little use. Stored in a dry barn by the PO and is in near-new condition. Chipper blade is very sharp and all the flails show no signs of wear. Gas was sitting in it for a number of years - so I cleaned the tank and fuel lines, rebuilt the carb (20. kit), hooked up a new battery (electric start model) - it starts instantly and devours piles of brush and tree limbs. The shredder (top hopper) takes branches up to about 1" to 1-1/2" and the chipper (side hopper) takes up to 3" limbs - but does that slowly . . . fairly fast up to 2-1/2" dia. It's essentially self-feeding - whips material through the top hopper very quickly, so unless you like getting cuts and scratches on your arms and hands, wear gloves + long sleeves. Be sure to also wear goggles and ear protection - very loud with clutch engaged. I really enjoy using it and have produced several 20 cf cart loads of mulch - and, processed much material for composting the gardens. The single chipper knife is removable by two bolts and seems to be easily sharpened by using a bench grinder and honing stone. I recently purchased a new belt from Ebay that is 21/32" X 29". The belt came from Gates Corporation Denver, CO. 80202 The belt number is 6929 from this maker. It's green in color and looks to be made of kevlar. I will see if I can find the link to the vendor for you. It cost me 15.00 plus shipping though I bought other parts for my chipper from the guy at the time and he combined the shipping to save me some money. Here you go. I bought spares of everything because I love my chipper and want it to be around for a long time.

A glance in the OEP book shows the belt as 5/8 X 29 3/16" OEM # 1902325. The OEP part # is 75-380. Stens shows their part# belt as 265-107 & says it is 5/8 X 29 1/4" long and replaces 97133. So if were me, I would try the OEM belt if you could locate it and then a Stens belt. The Stens belt in my experience is a good belt. I think they are Thermoid belts which actually make many OEM belts. Some of the OEP fall short, though some do fine. Beyond having the proper belt, pulley alignment, bearing or pulley wear will affect belt life as well as an impeller that may be damaged. Another thing to do when installing a new belt is to condition the belt by allowing it to run up without actually putting a load on the equipment for 15 minutes. Hope this gives you some help.
