Slower Growing, Longer Lived Front Yard Ornamental

Sorry people, tons of tree posts...I'm going out with a bang this spring, I have a little one on the way this summer.

This is a tough one...but one of my most important choices.

Looking for an ornamental off the corner of my house (front yard). Will be one of the, if not the premiere tree.

I have a temporary Autumn Blaze Pear in this spot but set back about 15' so I could get quick shade...but yet have room for another tree in front of it.

I want to plant something now that will be in full glory once the Pear begins to decline.

What makes it a tough choice is that it is southwest exposure so it gets tons of sun but its on a slight slope so it will get quite dry. No worries for supplement water during the establishment period.

Any suggestions? Size, lets say 25-35' x 15-25'
