Hello :) Wouldn't it be a tiny bit easier to ask someone at the garden center? I have no horticulture training/education, I am just a passionate gardener but this plant is pretty common and easy to ID. Someone at that garden center should know it's a LAVANDULA. But I can also admit, IDing plants on forums is also FUN :) CALIN

Thank you for all your responses..I wanted to make sure that was really what I bought. I'm a newbie to plants in general and I don't know all the names things can be labeled as. Not sure who the parents are..I bought it at a place called Comstock Ferre in my hometown..they are an amazing inventory of seed. Where I live in CT I believe it is considered an annual, although on the little ID Stick it states it is a cross b/w annual and perennial. It also ID's it as: Salvia "Salvino Blue" KLESA05253 Do you think this plant will be successful in attracting hummingbirds? I know all salvias are not created equal in that sense. In the next couple of years I will be constructing a hummer garden, and I need to do my research, as well as become an expert on over wintering plants seeing it can get expensive to buy all at once. I learned a lesson last year with my Salvia Hot Lips..*sigh*..that was a sad day.

I think it's a "cordial set"...and looks to me like it's been sprayed silver....try a little nail polish remover and see if it removes the silver "paint"....and may be pewter....there are lots of sorts of pewter....some contain lots of lead, some none at all, some lots of tin, some antimony....so it could be something like that. It's...."interesting".... LOL!

lolauren, It is a wonderful little table. At the same time, I also bought a plant stand with three legs- mahogany stained with a green marble top. At the top of each leg below the marble was a brass ormolu. I paid $30 for it then. I still see that same style stand on e-bay and at antique auctions. Both remind me of what Bombay company sold years ago. Normally, I would never paint brass but if it makes you happy- do it. I used the table for a night stand in my first and a second apartment. When I married, my husband had a wonderful bedroom suite and I used the table beside my tub for my toiletries. Your post has made me want to find mine. I have already looked in one closet.
