After two weeks of beautiful 70+ temps, Everything popped into bloom and Easter Sunday was perfect. The next day - BOOM! Temps dropped back into March temps with 40-41 degrees F. for daytime highs and 30s at night. Weird. So far, no freezes here, but they got snow up in the Panhandle area. It has rained continually over the past three days. That is the good part. We can use the water! It has been chilly, dark as dusk, and very, very soggy...that's the bad part. I need a break from all the gloom and chill. I am so wanting to plant my tomatoes! Beautiful roses there Kay. I've seen pictures of both roses you ordered. Can't wait to see pics of them growing in your Cottage Garden!

Hi rosenpots, I always place my roses to get at least 5 or six hours of full sun. On very sunny days, after they have moved into the shade, I rinse off the foliage. The cool shower really brings them back. Washing the leaves removes dust/dirt, pollution, bugs, and mold spores. Try to never wet rose leaves in the hot sun; they may burn. No chemical sprays here; the only thing I will ever spray on a rose is water. I also know that light colored pots are popular in hot zones.

You can't beat Burling as a person. She conducts her business at the highest level of professionalism, and gives the personal touch to all her transactions. Then there's her roses...very well grown and reasonably priced. The chance of finding a rarely encountered variety no one else propagates, Burling usually has it, especially the often forgotten and overlooked exceptional oldies. Her stock list is phenomenal! I'm like a little kid waiting for my order to come any day now. Sweet Arlene (what a great miniflora...did so well for me this past year, two more are coming), and Cafe Ole, new to me...giving it a try, these are my order. Three cheers for Burling!

Glad ya found your invoice Lilyfinch! That's a good thing that Hortico does.... charging less for a smaller plant. And believe me, most of the time they make up for it. Like I said, I got 2 tiny GINGER roses last yr, and right now they are big ol' things sittin' in the raised bed waiting for a spot. I think I will donate the second one tho. Don't need two of them. I'm very anxious to see that new rose ROYAL KATE. Not much about it anywhere, but I did see pics on the image tab of Google. Looks like a pretty pure lighter pink. Lilyfinch you will love CHANDOS BEAUTY. Mine got up to (almost) 6ft last yr. It goes from a pinky-white to a creamy apricot and even some yellow tones depending on the temps.
