What JD rider to buy?

I'm getting ready to replace my old Honda Harmony rider and have settled on John Deere as a replacement. I mow about an acre of slightly hilly yard. I'd also like to be able to push what little snow southern Indiana gets out of my looong driveway and pull a cart loaded with firewood (or whatever else needs hauling) across the yard when necessary. I went to the local JD dealer yesterday (about 10 minutes from me) and drove both an LA135 and an x300 around his parking lot. Due to limitations of my yard (gates, etc) as well as apparent limitations of the mulching kit available only for the 42" but not the 46" deck, I'll be sticking with the 42" deck.

I've seen old posts on here about the LA1xx vs. the X3xx series, but since the specs change year to year, I'd like to know what everyone thinks of the current 2010 models. The extra warranty alone is ALMOST worth the extra grand I'd be spending for the x300 but I still don't know if that would be money well spent.

I'd appreciate the group's thought on this... And thanks in advance!!
