Hi Toni... Yep thats the plant I was talkin about. Even the same colored flowers. I did get a pup from the mother, not knowing if it would ever root... but I stuck it in a small pot and it has put up 2 new blades. I was curious as to what was going on in the pot so just yesterday I pulled it out to examine it. You aren't a kiddin it's a "pot buster" My Gosh, the roots on this little guy are huge already. I ammended the soil some before sticking it back in the pot. Funny you mentioned the seeds, last week when I was cleaning the ladies house I got the cutting from, I noticed a seed pod that had been on the plant for quite some time. A perfectly round, still fleshy green, I picked it off. Now it's in a small pot as well, hope to see if the seeds take. I didn't wait until they were dried so they probably won't do anything. But I'm gonna grab some more and wait for them to dry before I plant them. My EC is still hangin in there. I'm thinkin it may just be goin thru a little shock due to environment change. I think there are some disadvantages to buying from a greenhouse/nursery. Their conditions are so hard to duplicate. I realize every plant comes from one at some point, but I think the ones that they sell right from their store are more spoiled than the ones that come from the box stores. Just my opinion. VF-11... So far I have seen some huge improvements in most all of my plants. There is only one place to get it here, which is direct from the rep. She lives on the other side of the state so I had to pay shipping as well as the cost of the product. I shared it with my sister so it wasn't as bad as if I had to buy it all myself. When it comes to my plants tho, I don't fret $$$'s too much. If it helps them and makes them thrive, then it makes me feel good. My way of thinkin is "I'd rather have no plants than ugly ones" so I do whatever it takes to make them purddy. LOL. I did some reading on here the other day tho, and I'm a little confused... they mentioned that VF-11 isn't a fert, it's a conditioner. So, now I'm wonderin if I should alternate between fert and VF-11. Shees, this hobby was a lot easier before I knew so much. LOL. But it's fun to learn and try new things. Especially when you see nice results. You are quite the bargin hunter, Toni. I have a corn plant I got from a grocery store a few years ago. It was pathetic lookin, but it was only $2.00 so I took a chance and brought it home. It took me awhile to figure it out, but now it's twice the size it was and doing well. It's one that has a definite dormant period, I didn't know that at the time I bought it and it lost a few leaves due to over watering it when it wasn't growing. It's growing now, just coming out of dormancy, and it will continue to do so until fall, and it will give me 4-6 more leaves, which will make it about 2-3 ft taller by the time it's done for the season. My other plants slow down some in the winter but this one stops! Thanks again for all the nice pics, and advise, I always look forward to your posts/comments. PS I was right, hubby didn't notice the new shelf I bought... I waited for a few days just to see how long it would take... I had to show it to him! He didn't believe me when I told him I bought it two days before... when I painted my dining room wall dark red, I didn't tell him. I just said "do you notice anything different"? He looked all around the house knowing he'd better come up with something, he thought maybe I had rearranged the furniture or something, I had to point it out to him, then he said "what color did it used to be"? LOL

I've been following this thread, but refraining from answering ... until today. A beautiful day, with temps in the mid-70's, perfect for getting out there to work in the yard and gardens, move some more things out of the greenhouse, while enjoying the fresh spring breezes, birdsong, and buzzing bees ... and humming leaf blowers, and the drone of small aircraft operated by weekend pilots, and neighbor's little children who tool up and down the driveway in their little powered go-cart, and the not-so-little-"children" across the street going in circles on their go-carts, and the mortorcyclists out for a ride, not to mention the guys in their big off-road-capable trucks; however, it's still too early for the jet-skis, and the evening is peaceful, as the race track has announced it will be closing down this season. Hmmmmm ... is it really a change in views of our government that's needed? Restrictions on imported goods? I should give up the luxury of my (affordable) 6x8 (Chinese-made) greenhouse ... when I eschew a leaf-blower for a good old-fashioned hand rake, synthetic chemicals for organic gardening methods and IPM, and other such environmentally-friendly lifestyle decisions? When the car I've chosen to drive, even at 10 years of age, is more fuel-efficient than any (so-called) American-made model, but could not be parked in the lot of a local union hall because it's foreign-made? (I'm not kidding, they have a big billboard outside to make that clear.) When I'm living in a relatively small (All I can say is I'm glad I'm not among the younger generation. I'm worried for the world my children and grandchildren will have to live in ... and I cherish the freedom I do have to make a carefully considered decision about my purchases and my lifestyle. I set up my Rion 8x12 "Hobby Greenhouse", the green one, over six years ago (photo below). No structural or deterioration problems, and no panel failures of any sort. The green finish has dulled, much like you get on a fiberglass boat. (The GH was new when the photo was taken.) Living in lower Alabama (sub-tropical), I ordered a custom kit with double doors in both ends, four vents and a shade cloth. This provides great ventilaiton - the secret to keeping it below the melting point. No yellowing of poly panels except in the south-facing doors, which stand open all summer with the unprotected side to the sun. (should have turned the panels around years ago, but too lazy.) Located in lower Alabama, it sees mild winters, hot humid summers, occasional strong thunderstorms, but no hurricanes yet. As noted by others, air sealing is something the factory leaves largely up to you, and it takes considerable observation and ingenuity to plug all the air inlets, somewhat akin to the structural enhancements the Harbor Freighters have to contend with. Also, as noted by others, water sealing is an ongoing process. In my case, I had water leaks under all four vents. I finally cured the leaks by taping all the seams around the vents with Nashua Waterproofing Tape (photo below). The tape has lasted several years now and still looks new, again in a sub-tropical climate. The Rion Hobby Greenhouse looks like a big kid's toy. But it's not. It's made very precisely, and you have to assemble it exactly as the manufacturer intends (but sometimes does not explain very well), perfectly square and level. That pesky stripping that secures the poly panels and the torsion wires across the top look easy, but are particularly tough to get right. Structurally, the greenhouse sort of hangs by it's thumbs, i.e. everything about it contributes to its structural integrity. It helps enormously if you have built many things before taking on a Rion. I would posit that a much of the trouble people have with the Rion derives from their inexperience in building things, or just plain old carelessness and inattention to detail. With all due respect, if you lack building experience, or otherwise have trouble figuring complex things out, you might need to get experienced help in setting up a Rion. Hello greenhouser, these are the photos from the earlier post. The first one is of the location through the molding's. I did the same on both slopes of the roof. This photo shows the caps. The catch for the slide bolt on the bottom is just a piece of scrap angle with one leg of the angle under the Rion threshold. I kept it low enough as not to cerate a tripping hazards. The catch for the slide bolt on the top is a piece of 3/4 in X 1 1/2 in sheet that I screwed through the angle above the door and into the top of the door frame. I kept it high enough as not to plow a furrow through my head. The next two photos show the cross bolt on the outside of the doors open and closed. I also used the overage from the doors wether stripping on the bottom inside and top outside of the vent. It goes into the groves in the frame,same as on the doors. John
